Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un metodo para el revestimiento de un filamento metálico con un metal fundido que consiste de los pasos de estirar el filamento desde un baño de metal fundido, hacer pasar el filamento a traves de una boquilla limpiadora de chorro de gas que tiene un orificio de gas separado del baño de metal fundido para dirigir una corriente de gas limpiadora contra el filamento para limpiar el exceso de metal fundido desde el filamento, y luego enfriar el filamento aplicando al mismo un refrigerante fluído, el metodo esta caracterizado porque el filamento limpio se hace pasar a traves de un recipiente de contención de gas que contiene una atmósfera de gas reactivo que incluye radicales de sulfuro o cloruro o materiales que se descompondrán para producir estos radicales, despues de pasar a traves de la boquilla limpiadora de chorro de gas y antes de enfriarse, el recipiente de contención está separado de la boquilla limpiadora de chorro de gas lo suficientemente para permitir la descarga del gas limpiador entre los mismos de manera tal que el gas reactivo no se diluya perjudicialmente y el recipiente de contención de gas es lo suficientemente largo de manera que el filamento tiene un tiempo de permanencia suficientemente prolongado en el recipiente para permitir que el gas reactivo reaccione con el metal fundido sobre el filamento.
