Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un recipiente de tereftalato de polietileno (TPE) formado mediante moldeo por soplado y adaptado para ser llenado con líquido a una temperatura elevada por arriba de la temperatura ambiente, caracterizado porque comprende una porción superior que define un cierre sellable, una porción de pared lateral, y una porción de base que encierra el fondo del recipiente y que se forma integralmente con la porción de pared lateral, la porción de base que tiene un anillo externo en el extremo inferior de la porción de pared lateral que es concéntrica substancialmente con la porción de pared lateral, un domo que se forma integralmente con el anillo extreno y que se extiende hacia arriba dentro del recipiente y que termina en una porción de disco central que también es concéntrica substancialmente con la porción de pared lateral, el domo incluye también una pared anular de forma irregular que se extiende entre la porción del disco y el anillo externo, la pared anular que es sometida a deformación en virtud de la presencia en ella de esfuerzos retractivos no relajados que resultan del moldeo por soplado y el efecto del calentamiento del líquido de relleno a dicha temperatura elevada, la pared anular que se conforma para resistir los esfuerzos por medio de proveer porciones que se extienden hacia arriba y hacia abajo arregladas alternativamente en la pared lo cual proporciona la pared anular con una aparienccia de serpentina en sección transversal vertical, las porciones que se extienden hacia arriba y hacia abajo también se extienden en direcciones substancialmente concéntricas alrededor de la porción del disco central para reformar de este modo la habilidad de la pared anular para resistir la deformación durante el llenado del recipiente con líquido a una temperatura elevada.The present invention relates to a polyethylene terephthalate (TPE) container formed by blow molding and adapted to be filled with liquid at a temperature elevated above ambient temperature, characterized in that it comprises an upper portion that defines a sealable closure, a side wall portion, and a base portion enclosing the bottom of the container and integrally formed with the side wall portion, the base portion having an outer ring at the lower end of the side wall portion that is substantially concentric with the side wall portion, a dome that integrally forms with the end ring and extends upwardly within the container and terminates in a central disc portion that is also substantially concentric with the side wall portion, the dome also includes an irregularly shaped annular wall extending between the disc portion and the outer ring or, the annular wall that is subjected to deformation by virtue of the presence in it of non-relaxed retracting stresses resulting from blow molding and the effect of heating the filler liquid at said elevated temperature, the annular wall that is shaped to resist stresses by providing alternately arranged up and down extending portions on the wall which provides the annular wall with a serpentine appearance in vertical cross section, the up and down extending portions also extend in Substantially concentric directions around the central disk portion to thereby reform the ability of the annular wall to resist deformation during filling of the container with liquid at an elevated temperature.
