Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una almohadilla de calentamiento eléctrico, que comprende: primero y segundo elementos conductores que se extienden substancialmente paralelos entre sí y espaciados uno del otro, para transportar corriente eléctrica y para conducir calor cada uno de los elementos conductores comprendiendo una hoja substancialmente plana de material eléctrica y térmicamente conductivo; un elemento de calentamiento formado de material de calentamiento de resistencia variable, eléctricamente conectado entre los elementos conductores primero y segundo, para producir calor cuando fluye corriente a través del mismo, el material de calentamiento de resistencia variable aumentando substancialmente en resistencia cuando se alcanza un límite de temperatura, para reducir la corriente que fluye a través del elemento de calentamiento, de manera de controlar la salida de calor de almohadilla de calentamiento; un elemento aislante eléctrico dispuesto entre los elementos; conductores, para impedir el contacto entre los elementos conductores primero y segundo; y un material aislante eléctrico, dispuesto externamente de los elementos conductores para impedir cortocircuito o choque.
