Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para separar un metal, que forma un complejo con 8-hidroxiquinolina, de una solución acuosa que contiene dicho metal, que comprende los pasos de: a) poner en contacto la solución acuosa con una fase orgánica líquida o sólida que contiene un extractor, que consta por una parte de un componente activo que se una 8-hidroxiquinolina substituída o una mezcla de 8-hiroxiquinolinas substituídas y por otra parte de subproductos de la fabricaión de dicho extractor, efectuándose el contacto a un pH tal que por lo menos parte de dicho metal es transferida de la solución acuosa a la fase organica, produciendo con ello una solución acuosa empobrecida de dicho metal y una fase orgánica cargada de dicho metal; b) separar la solución acuosa empobrecida de dicho metal de la fase orgánica cargada de dicho metal; c) recuperar dicho metal de la fase orgánica cargada; y d) volver a usar en el paso (a) la fase orgánica que ha sido descargada en el paso (c), estando caracterizado dicho procedimiento porque el extractor contiene por lo menos 90 por ciento en peso del componente activo.
