Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento para la operación o funcionamiento de un horno de arco eléctrico con electrodos de piso, en donde la operación de fundido y colada es acompañada por el enfriamiento de los electrodos de piso por una instalación de enfriamiento, y de tal manera, que se mantenga una temperatura de trabajo constante o que solo cambien lentamente, caracterizada porque en pausas de operación largas se hace funcionar la instalación de enfriamiento, al menos durante una parte de la pausa con una potencia de enfriamiento reducida.
