Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para separar los componentes de una corriente que comprende una pluralidad de fluidos que tienen diferentes pesos específicos, el método comprende las etapas de: introducir la corriente a un rotor, que tiene una pared de rotor y porciones extremas opuestas primera y segunda y una pluralidad de secciones de retiro del fluído unidas al rotor; hacer rotar el rotor para ocasionar una separación radial de los fluídos, en donde los fluídos son forzados hacia afuera hacia la pared del rotor formando una pluralidad de capas de fluído, de modo que la capa de fluído adyacente a la pared del rotor tendrá el peso específico relativo más grande y las capas sucesivas aproximándose al eje rotacional del rotor, tienen sucesivamente pesos específicos menores, de modo que se forman interfaces entre cada fluído separado; detectar la posición de cada interfaz por medio de detectores y retirar los fluidos individuales haciendo fluir cada fluído a una sección de retiro de fluído y retirando cada fluído individual por la abertura de un pasaje de cucharón de fluído, en respuesta a la detección de cada interfaz, cuando cada capa de fluído alcanza un grueso especificado.
