Abstract

Quince variety (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) with registrated appellation Zarea is obtained from the varieties Sorocscaya and Kirovobadskaya crossing and is provided for industrial production. The variety is divided into districts in the Republic of Moldova for all the zones of variety cultivation. The tree is middlesized with a round spheric crown.The skeleton branches are straight, moved away from the central conductor at an angle approximated to the right one. The fruit formations are the shoots and fruit branches. The variety is self-fertilized, the best pollinators in the gardens are Turunchukskaya, Codryanca. The average harvest forms 30-35 t/ha. The fruits maturing period is the end of September - beginning of Octomber. Sometimes it is noticed the monylinose damage.
