Abstract

Quince variety (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) with registrated appellation Kometa is obtained from the varieties Sorocscaya and Limonnaya crossing and is provided for industrial production. The variety is divided into districts in the Republic of Moldova for all the zones of variety cultivation. The tree is undersized with inverse-pyramidal compact crown.The main branches are moved away from the central conductor at an angle of 45o. The variety is self-fertilisated, the best pollinators in the gardens are Turunchukskaya, Auriu. The average harvests form 30-35 t/ha. The fruits maturing period is the end of september - beginning of october. The variety is characterized by the diseases stability.
