Abstract

The invention refers to agriculture, particularly to methods for selecting salinization-resistant tomato genotypes. The method, according to the invention, includes collection of completely tripped flowers of each genotype, separation of pollen from anthers, cultivation at the temperature of 27°C, during 3 hours, of one part of control pollen on a nutrient medium, containing, in g/L:and of another part of sample pollen on a nutrient medium, containing, in g/L:determination of sample and control pollen viability by the ratio between the number of germinated pollen grains and the total number of analyzed grains, expressed in percents; determination of pollen tubes length by means of the ocular micrometer; calculation of pollen resistance indexes by the ratio of sample pollen viability about the control one, expressed in percents; and of pollen tubes resistance indexes by the ratio of sample pollen tubes length about the control ones, expressed in percents; and calculation of mean integral resistance of genotypes to salinization, expressed by the half-sum of pollen and pollen tubes resistance indexes, at the same time there are selected genotypes, to which the salinization resistance indexes are greater.
