Abstract

The invention relates to chemistry and medicine, namely to the synthesis of a new biologically active coordinative compound of copper, from the class of heterocyclic thiosemicarbazones, which may find its use in medicine as an antimicrobial agent.Summary of the invention consists in the synthesis of acetato-(8-formylquinolinethiosemicarbazono)copper(II) compound of formula:,exhibiting antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (strain 209-P), Enterococcus faecalis and Proteus vulgaris bacteria.
