Abstract

According to the invention, biogas such as natural gas and other gases capable of being biologically produced by digestion of organic matter are converted into a clean burning hydrocarbon liquid fuel in a process in which a biogas is introduced into a reaction vessel. wherein the biogas is in contact with a liquid petroleum fraction and a transition metal catalyst immersed in the liquid, vaporized product gas is withdrawn from a vapor phase above the liquid level, condensed and introduced into a vessel of product where the condensate is separated from the uncondensed gas and withdrawn as a liquid product fuel. The uncondensed gas can be recycled to the reaction vessel.
