For patients with more or less serious physical damage, arrangements are made on wheelchairs so that they can move without the help of third parties.

This becomes more difficult if the damage is particularly serious, e.g. due to congenital or later injuries to the backbone or central nervous system. In addition to precautions in connection with the fact that they are handicapped, such patients also need supports in other places and it can be expected that the sitting position can be adapted to certain actions.

Motorized wheelchairs are well known. However, their construction is particularly aimed at patients who are handicapped but can still carry out practically all actions.

The purpose of the invention is to make a wheelchair of the above-mentioned type more universal, i.e. to make it suitable for patients who are not only handicapped but also have other serious damage 1, as a result of which the normal muscle functions no longer work, with special attention being paid to the fact that the sitting position can be adapted to a specific action.

The invention provides a wheelchair or the like, which also helps in cases in which a patient can use the fingers almost exclusively.

Because, according to the invention, the seat, together with the supports for the arms, feet and back, is tiltably supported on the frame by automatic actuation, the patient can also bring the seat into any desired tilt position. The assets required for this are then also supplied by the voltage source in the rack.

The automatic actuation mechanism for tilting the seat in relation to the frame can be carried out in very different ways. A practical solution is a lifting device, which is located between the frame and the seat and can be commanded via an operating board.

It was shown that a mechanically, pneumatically or hydraulically operated winch is very suitable for this.

In the drawing, the frame of the wheelchair is indicated by 1, which is preferably constructed from light and strong tubular material. 2 denotes one of the wheels provided with pneumatic tires and 3 small wheels or castors which can serve as steering wheels.
