Abstract

본 발명은 피디피(PDP) 디스플레이 장치의 해상도 안내장치에 관한 것으로 PDP 디스플레이 장치로 입력되는 영상신호의 모드가 모드판별부를 통해 판별되는데, 영상신호의 모드가 VGA가 아닌 다른 모드인 경우 외부로부터의 클럭(CLK1)과 동기발생부로부터의 새로운 수평동기신호(H's) 및 수직동기신호(Vs')에 기초하여 발생되는 제1어드레스 발생부로부터의 어드레스에 의거하여 제1메모리에 저장되어 있는 안내메세지가 선택부를 통해 PDP 패널로 제공된 다음 안내메세지가 화면으로 디스플레이되고, 영상신호의 모드가 VGA인 경우 외부로부터의 클럭(CLK2)과 PDP 디스플레이 장치로 입력되는 영상신호의 수평동기신호(Hs)와 수직동기신호(Vs)에 기초하여 발생되는 제2어드레스 발생부로부터의 어드레스에 의거하여 제2메모리에 저장되어 있는 영상데이타가 선택부를 통해 PDP 패널로 제공된 다음 화면으로 디스플레이되므로써, PDP 디스플레이 장치로 입력되는 영상신호의 모드에 따른 안내메세지가 화면으로 디스플레이되므로, 현재 입력되는 영상신호에 대한 신호처리 여부를 확인할 수 있도록 한 것이다.

Claims (1)

  1. PDP 디스플레이 장치로 입력되는 영상신호를 신호처리하여 화면으로 디스플레이하는 PDP 디스플레이 장치에 있어서, 상기 입력되는 영상신호 중에 포함되어 있는 수평동기신호와 수직동기신호에 의거하여 상기 입력되는 영상신호의 모드를 판별하기 위한 모드판별수단(110); 상기 모드판별수단(110)으로부터의 제1모드 판별 신호에 의거하여 동작되며, VGA에 상응하는 새로운수평동기신호와 수직동기신호를 발생하는 동기발생수단(120), 상기 모드판별수단(110)으로부터의 제1모드 판별신호에 의거하여 동작되며, 외부로부터의 제1클럭과 상기 동기발생수단(120)으로부터 제공되는 새로운 수평동기신호와 수직동기신호에 의거하여 제1어드레스를 발생하는 제1어드레스 발생수단(130); 해상도 안내를 위한 안내메세지를 저장하며, 상기 제1어드레스 발생수단(130)으로부터의 제1어드레스에 의거하여 상기 저장된 안내메세지를 인출되는 제1메모리(140); 외부로부터의 제2클럭과 상기 입력되는 영상신호중에 포함되어 있는 수평동기신호와 수직동기신호에 의거하여 제2어드레스를 발생하는 제2어드레스 발생수단(150); A/D변환수단으로부터 제공되는 영상데이타를 저장하며, 상기 제2어드레스 발생수단(150)으로부터의 제2어드레스에 의거하여 상기 저장된 영상데이타를 인출되는 제2메모리(160); 상기 모드판별수단(110)으로부터의 모드 판별신호에 의거하여 상기 제 1 메모리(140)로부터 인출되는 안내메세지와 상기 제2메모리(160)로부터 인출되는 영상데이타를 선택적으로 PDP 패널로 제공하기 위한 선택수단으로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 피디피(PDP) 디스플레이 장치의 해상도 안내장치.
