Abstract

본 발명은 그래픽(graphic), 비디오/오디오(Video/Audio) 그리고 사운드(Sound)에 관한 데이터의 처리 기능을 갖는 멀티미디어 데이터 처리 장치(an apparatus with processing multi-media data)에 관한 것으로서, 그래픽 데이터 처리부(50)에 의해 2/3차원 그래픽 데이터의 처리가 고속으로 이루어지며, MPEG 데이터 처리부(70)에 의해 MPEG 데이터의 변환/재생에 따른 포맷팅/디포맷팅이 이루어지며 이외의 변환/재생에 따른 데이터의 처리는 호스트에 의해 처리되며, 사운드 데이터 처리부(80)에 의해 사운드/미디 데이터의 처리가 이루어진다. 또한 이상의 멀티미디어 데이터 처리장치(200)는 하나의 반도체 칩에 직접되는 원칩의 형태로 제공될 수 있다.

Claims (5)

  1. 호스트(30)와의 인터페이스를 위한 호스트 인터페이스부(40)와; 상기 호스트 인터페이스부(40)로부터 2/3차원 그래픽 데이터를 입력받아 소정의 그래픽 데이터 처리과정을 수행하는 그래픽 데이터 처리부(50)와; 상기 호스트 인터페이스부(40)로부터 비디오 데이터를 입력받아 소정의 데이터 처리과정을 수행하여 출력하는비디오 데이터 처리부(60)와; 상기 호스트 인터페이스부(40)로부터 MPEG 변환/재생을 위한 데이터를 입력받아 포맷팅/디포멧팅 과정을 수행하며, MPEG 데이터 재생시 영상신호 및 오디오신호를 출력하는 MPEG 데이터 처리부(70)와; 상기 호스트 인터페이스부(40)로부터 사운드 데이터 또는 미디 데이터를 입력받아 소정의 데이터 처리과정을 수행하는 사운드 데이터 처리부(80)와; 외부 비디오 메모리(34)를 제어하기 위한 메모리 제어부(90)와; 상기 그래픽 데이터 처리부(50)의 출력 또는 상기 영상 신호를 입력받아 스케일 업/다운 및 칼라 스페이스를 변화하여 상기 메모리 제어부(90)로 인가하는 비디오 변환부(100)와; 상기 오디오신호 또는 상기 사운드 데이터 처리부(80)의 출력을 입력받고, 이를 선택적으로 외부 스피커(36)로 출력하는 먹스(110)와; 상기 메모리 제어부(90)의 출력을 입력받고, CRT 제어신호를 출력하는 CRT 제어부(120)와; 상기 비디오 데이터 처리부(60)의 출력을 입력받고, 상기 CRT 제어신호의 입력에 응답하여 입력된 디지털 형태의 신호를 아날로그 신호로 변환하여 CRT(32)로 출력하는 램댁(130)을 포함하는 멀티미디어 데이터 처리장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 사운드 데이터 처리부(80)는, PCI 버스와 ISA 버스를 인터페이스하기 위한 PCI/ISA 인터페이스부(82)와; MIDI 인터페이스를 위한 MIDI 인터페이스부(84)와; 신디사이저(86)를 포함하는 멀티미디어 데이터 처리장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 신디사이저(86)는, 복수개의 서로 다른 주파수를 갖는 신호를 발생하기 위한 디지털 오실레이터를 포함하는 멀티미디어 데이터 처리장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 MPEG 데이터 처리부(70)는, MPEG 데이터로 변환하기 위한 데이터 입력시 이를 포맷팅하여 MPEG 데이터 변환을 완료하고, MPEG 데이터 재생시 포맷팅된 MPEG 데이터를 입력받아 이를 디포맷팅하는 멀티미디어 데이터 처리장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 호스트 인터페이스부(40)와, 상기 그래픽 데이터 처리부(50)와, 상기 비디오 데이터 처리부(60)와, 상기 MPEG 데이터 처리부(70)와, 상기 사운드 데이터 처리부(80)와, 상기 메모리 제어부(90)와, 상기 비디오 변환부(100)와, 상기 먹스(110)와, 상기 CRT제어부(120)와, 상기 랩댁(130)은 하나의 반도체 칩에 직접된 멀티미디어 데이터 처리장치.
