Abstract

본 발명은 씨디/디브이디 겸용 광픽업장치에 관한 것으로, 레이저다이오드(21)에서 발광되어 대물렌즈(25)를 거쳐 광디스크(D)에 집광되는 빔(B)의 광축에 대해 대물렌즈(25)의 개구율을 조절하기 위한 액정셔터(30)를 반사광이 광검출기(26)에 입사되지 않는 각도범위만큼 경사지게 광축상에 설치하고, 액정셔터(30)를 통과하는 빔(B)을 편광상태에 따라 투과 또는 반사시키는 유전체층(36)을 구비하여 구성되며, 상기 액정셔터(30)는 광축방향과 평행한 러빙(Rubbing)방향을 가지는 액정층(35)이 제1 및 제2글래스기판(31)(33) 사이에 구비되고, 상기 제1 및 제2글래스기판(31)(33)의 일면에는 각각 투명전극(32)(33)이 형성되며, 상기 제2글레스기판(33)의 타면에는 상기 유전체층(36)이 형성되어 구성된다. 이와 같은 본 발명에 의한 광픽업장치에 의하면 하나의 유니트에서 CD계열의 광디스크와 DVD용 고밀도 광디스크를 독취 또는 기록할 수 있게 될 뿐만 아니라 명암대비율이 좋아져 그 동작특성이 좋아지는 이점이 있다.

Claims (7)

  1. 레이저다이오드에서 발광됨 빔을 대물렌즈를 통하여 두께가 다른 디스크의 정보기록면에 집광하기 위하여 상기 대물렌즈의 개구수(NA)를 조절하는 액정셔터와, 상기 액정셔터를 통과한 빔의 편광 상태에 상응하는부분의 빔을 반사시키는 유전체층을 액정셔터에 일체로 형성한 것을 포함하여 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 씨디/디브이디 겸용 광픽업장치.
  2. 레이저다이오드에서 발광되어 대물렌즈를 거쳐 광디스크에 집광되는 광의 광축에 대해 대물렌즈의 개구율을 조절하기 위한 액정셔터를 반사광이 광검출기에 입사되지 않은 각도범위만큼 경사지게 광축상에 설치하고, 액정서텨를 통과하는 광을 편광상태에 따라 투과 또는 반사시키는 유전체층을 구비하여 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 씨디/디브이디 겸용 광픽업장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 액정셔터는 광축방향과 평행한 러빙(Rubbing) 방향을 가지는 액정층이 제1 및 제2글레스기판사이에 구비되고, 상기 제1 및 제2글레스기판의 일면에는 각각 투명전극이 형성되며, 상기 글레스기판중 하나의 면에는 입사되는 광의 편광 광속을 분할하는 유전체층이 형성되어 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 씨디/디브이디 겸용 광픽업장치.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 글레스기판에 구비된 투명전극은 상기 기판의 중앙에 원형으로 형성되어 광경로차를 없애주는 원형전극과, 상기 원형전극의 둘레에 환형으로 형성되어 광속의 크기를 조절하는 환형전극임을 특징으로 하는 씨디/디브이디 겸용 광픽업장치.
  5. 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 상기 유전체층은 MgF2와 ZnS를 적층하여 형성됨을 특징으로 하는 씨디/디브이디 겸용 광픽업장치.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 유전체층이 코팅된 액정셔터는 발광원과 수광원 사이의 임의의 광로 상에 설치됨을 특징으로 하는 씨디/디브이디 겸용 광픽업장치.
  7. 레이저다이오드에서 발광된 광을 두께가 다른 디스크의 정보기록면에 집광하기 위한 광픽업장치에서 상기 디스크 두께에 따라 변화된 광선속의 폭에 해당되는 광의 편광방향을 변경하는 액정셔터와, 상기 디스크에서 반사된 광을 대물렌즈 및 액정셔터를 통하여 입사 받아 위상을 변경시키는 1/4파장판과, 상기 1/4파장판에 의해 위상이 바뀐 빔을 상기 액정셔터 및 1/4파장판의 편광방향 조절에 의해 편광광선속을 분할하는 빔스프리터를 포함하여 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 씨디/디브이디 겸용 광픽업장치.
