Abstract

본 발명은 디스크 장치에서의 헤드 전환시 탐색 시간을 감소시키는 것에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해서 각 헤드의 틸트량을 미리 측정하고 이 값을 테이블로 해서 기억해 두며, 이 값을 사용해서 헤드 전환을 행하였을 대에 다음에 사용될 헤드의 현재 위치로부터 가장 근접한 트랙을 타겟 트랙으로 한다, 이 때문에 틸트 보정을 위한 헤드 변환 보정 케이블을 디스크에 기억한다, 이 틸트 보정을 위한 헤드 변환 보정 테이블에는 각 헤드 상호간의 상대적 트랙 편차량을 데이타로서 갖는다. 예를 들면, 헤드 1로부터 헤드2에서는 편차량이 +1 트랙인 것을 나타내는 데이타를 갖는다. 헤드의 전환시에는 이 헤드 변환 보정 테이블을 참조하여 탐색량을 적게 하도록 타겟 트랙을 설정한다.

Claims (5)

  1. 복수의 기록면을 구비한 디스크와 이 복수의 기록면 각각에 대응해서 배치된 헤드를 구비한 디스크 장치로서, 상기 디스크를 회전시켜 이 대스크 상에 떠있는 헤드에 의해 이 디스크 상의 트랙에 기록된 신호를 판독 또는 이 디스크 상에 신호을 기록하는 디스크 장치에 있어서, 상기 복수의 헤드 각각의 디스크 반경 방향의 상대적 틸트량을 데이타로서 포함하는 헤드 변환 보정 테이블 수단과, 헤드의 전환시 상기 헤드 변환 보정 테이블 내의 데이타에 기초하여 전환 후의 헤드 탐색량을 최소로 하는 트랙을 타겟 트랙으로서 어드레스 지정하는 수단을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 디스크 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 헤드 변환 보정 테이불 수단은 전환 전의 헤드와 전환 후의 헤드 상호간의 디스크반경 방향의 상대적 틸트를 트랙 단위의 정수로 표시한 값을 데이타 값으로서 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 디스크 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 헤드 변환 보정 테이불 수단은 전환 전의 헤드와 전환 후의 헤드 상호간의 디스크반경 방향의 상대적 틸트량의 계측값을 트랙간 거리로 나눈 값을 반올림해서 얻은 정수값을 데이타로서 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 디스크 장치.
  4. 복수의 기록면을 구비한 디스크와 이 복수의 기록면 각각에 대응해서 배치된 헤드를 구비한 디스크 장치로서, 상기 디스크를 회전시켜 이 디스크 상에 떠있는 헤드에 의해 이 디스크 상의 트랙에 기록된 신호를 판독 또는 이 디스크 상에 신호을 기록하는 디스크 장치에의 헤드 전환 방법에 있어서, 헤드의 전환시 전환전 헤드와 전환 후 헤드의 틸트량을, 상기 복수의 헤드 각각의 디스크 반경 방향의 상대적 틸트량을 데이타로서 포함하는 헤드 변환 보정 테이블 수단으로부터 구하는 단계와; 상기 헤드 변환 보정 테이블로부터 구한 헤드의 틸트량을 상기 전환 후 헤드의 타겟 트랙 산출시 보정값으로서 더하여 타겟 트랙을 결정하는 단계와, 상기 결정된 타겟 트랙에 전환 후 헤드를 위치 걸정하는 단계를 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 디스크 장치에서의 헤드 전환 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 헤드 변환 보정 테이불 수단은 전환 전의 헤드와 전환 후 헤드 상호간의 상대적 틸트를 트랙 단위의 정수로 표시한 값을 데이타 값으로서 가지며, 상기 타겟 트랙 산출시에는 이 정수값을 보정값으로서 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스크 장치에서의 헤드 전환 방법.
