Taxol and its derivatives are produced by inducing callus from the living cell of the leaves and stems of yew tree, and then by suspension culture of the callus cell in liquid medium. During the culture of callus cell, adding elicitor extracted from cell wall of phytophtora megasperma or yeast, increased jasmonic acid content in cell, and then formed Taxol produced twice. Direct addition of jasmonic acid from outside indicates the same effect.
