Abstract

위임받은 디스크만을 작동하는 디스크플레이어. 내용에 관계된 데이타가 들어있는 디스크의 인입섹션(lead-in section)내의 데이타블록들을 포함하는 소정의 데이타블록은 위임코드(authorization code)를 유도하도록 처리된다. 상기 위임 코드는 공중키(public-key) 암호시스템의 한짝인 전용키(private-key)를 사용하여, 암호화된 형태로 디스크상에 저장된다. 상기 플레이어는 계산된 코드를 유도하도록 그와같은 디스크데이타를 처리하며, 또한 디스크상의 암호화된 위임코드를 해독하도록 쌍을 이룬 공중키를 사용한다. 암호화된 위임코드가 계산된 코드와 일치하는 경우에만 디스크의 작동이 일어난다. 그와같은 기법은 총체적인 디스크의 작동이 아닌 어떤 특정한 모드에서의 작동을 제어하는데 사용될 수 있다.

Claims (21)

  1. 위임받고 위임받지 못한 개봉자들의 소프트웨어 캐리어들을 구별하는 소프트 웨어 캐리어의 작동시스템에 있어서, 위임받는 개봉자(authorized publisher)의 소프트웨어 캐리어 각각은 신호가 캐리어의 작동중에 발생될 수 있는 복수개의 데이타블록 및 캐리어상에 저장된 소정의 정보의 기능인 위임코드를 포함하는 시스템으로서, 상기 소정의 정보를 판독하는 수단과 상기 기능을 이용하여 계산된 코드를 유도하는 수단, 상기 캐리어 위임코드와 상기 유도되어 계산된 코드를 비교하는 수단, 및 상기 비교수단의 작용에 따라 상기 소프트웨어 캐리어의 작동을 선택적으로 허용하는 수단을 포함하는 시스템.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 캐리어 위임코드는 공중키 암호시스템의 한 짝인 전용키에 대한 암호문이며, 상기 비교수단은 한 쌍의 공중키로 상기 캐리어 위임코드를 해독하여 암호화된 코드를 상기 계산된 코드와 비교하는 시스템.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 소프트웨어 캐리는 캐리어의 소프트웨어 내용에 관한 정보가 들어있는 인입(lead-in)섹션을 포함하며, 상기 소정의 정보는 그러한 인입정보를 포함하는 시스템.
