Abstract
본 발명은 광섬유를 광도파관에 손쉽게 결합시킬 수 있도록 하여주는 광 결합장치와, 상기 경합장치를 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 또한 본 발명은 상기 결합장치를 갖는 광섬유와 광도파관의 결합구조및 복수개의 배열을 포함하는 광섬유와 광도파관의 배열(Arrays)에 관한 것이다.

제2도는 본 발명에 따른 광결합장치 및, 광 도파관의 실시예를 도시한 사시도,
제3도는 본 발명에 따라 광섬유를 광도파관에 결합시킨 상태를 도시한 사시도,
제5도는 본 발명에 따라서, 그리고 제3도의 5-5'선을 따라서 광도파관에 광섬유가 결합된 상태를 도시한 단면도.
Claims (11)
- 기판: 상기 기판의 표면상에 형성된 광전송 도파관; 직경 크기 d1을 갖춘 광섬유와, 상기 광도파관을 광학적으로 일치시켜 결합시키기 위하여 상기 기판의 표면에 형성된 통로를 갖추고, 상기 통로의 길이방향 축은 상기 광도파관에 일치하거나 또는 거의 일치함으로서 통로내에 광섬유를 위치시키는 경우, 상기 광섬유의 광이송 코어와 광도파관은 광학적으로 일치하거나 또는 거의 광학적으로 일치하며, 상기 통로는 양측벽과 바닥을 갖고 상기 바닥에 수직한 방향으로 단면 깊이 d2에서 상기 양측벽은 사이에 폭 W1을 갖추며, 상기 바닥에 인접한 양측벽 사이에는 폭 W2을 갖추고, 상기 W1, W2, d1 및 d2가 아래와 같이 선택되며: (a) W2가 W1보다 크고: (d) d2가 1/2 d1보다 크고: 그리고 (c) d1이 W1보다 크고 그리고, W2이하의 크기를 갖추며, 상기 통로내에 광섬유가 위치되는 경우, 통로로부터 광섬유를 변위시키는데 필요한 힘은 지지력 시험에서 결정되는 바와 같이 0.01 뉴톤(Newton)이상으로 형성되며 광도파관을 갖는 광결합장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 힘은 0.1 뉴톤 이상임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 힘은 0.5 뉴톤 이상임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 힘은 0.75 뉴톤 이상임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 힘은 1 뉴톤 이상임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 힘은 대략 0.1 뉴톤 내지 대략 1 뉴톤 임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 W1은 대략 0.6 d1 내지 대략 0.99 d1 임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 W1은 대략 0.8 d1 내지 대략 0.99 d1 임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 W1은 대략 0.9 d1 내지 대략 0.99 d1 임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 d2는 1/2 d1 이상 내지 대략 2 d1임을 특징으로 하는 결합장치.
