본 발명은 차량의 현재위치와 목적지의 방향 및 거리를 도로지도상에 표시하는 차량용 내비게이션 시스템 및 그 표시화면 디스플레이 방법에 관한 것으로, 현재 차량의 위치를 나타내는 위치커서를 중심으로 목적지까지의 방향과 거리를 도식적으로 표시할 수 있도록 함으로써 주행도중 목적지 방향을 쉽게 인식할 수 있으며, 목적지까지의 거리가 목적지정보커서와 동시에 표시되므로 목적지까지 도착하는데 걸리는 시간등을 예상할 수 있게 된다. 또한, 종래와 같이 여러단계의 키이 조작없이 위치커서와 실시간으로 목적지의 방향과 거리가 표시되므로 운전자의 안전운행에 도움을 줄 수 있으며, 목적지만 설정하면 도중에 어느 도로를 선택하여 주행하던 관계없이 항상 화면에 목적지에 대한 거리 및 방향의 정보가 표시되므로 주행도중 목적지를 다시 설정해야 하는 번거로움도 없게된다. 또한, 본 발명은 자동차 뿐만아니라 선박 및 항공기의 내비게이션 장치에도 이용될 수 있다.The present invention relates to a vehicle navigation system for displaying a current position of a vehicle and a direction and distance of a destination on a road map, and a display screen display method thereof.
