본 고안에서의 석유 스토브라함은 석유를 심지에 묻혀서 연소시켜 취사용이나 난방용으로 쓰는 일체의 기구를 말하는 것으로, 일반적으로 종래의 석유 스토브는 석유 저장탱크와 심지수납통 및 케이스등으로 구성되어 저장 탱크내의 석유를 심지에 묻혀 심지를 연소 시키도록 한것으로, 심지조절봉에 의한 불꽃조절로서 화력을 조절하도록 되어있었다. 즉, 석유 저장탱크 상부에는 석유 주입용 밸트와 통기구 및 심지가 끼워지는 심의통이 형성되어 있고, 상기 심의통 중앙부에 심지조절용 봉과 심지에 불을 붙이거나 불꽃조절을 위한 안내통이 설치되며 취사할 재료를 얹어놓거나 외형을 구성하는 케이스로 석유 스토브가 형성되어 있었다. 이러한 석유 스토브에 불을 붙인후 석유 탱크내의 석유가 심지를 통해 계속 연소하게 되면 열전달에 의한 석유탱크의 압력, 즉 기화 개스량이 증가되는데 이러한 석유의 휘발성에 의한 기화 개스는 스토브 소화시 심한 악취를 내게되고 외부 충격등에 의해 석유 스토브가 전도될 때 인화성이 가중되어 화재의 위험이 클뿐만 아니라 불완전 연소의 요인이 되어왔던 것이다. 즉, 사용이 끝난 석유스토브를 불꽃을 줄여서 소화시키는 과정에서, 사용중의 석유탱크내 기화 개스는 어느정도 팽창되어 있게 되는데 이때 심지를 줄이게 되면 그 줄어든 양만큼의 심지는 석유탱크내의 석유탱크내의 석유속으로 잠기게 되므로서 상대적으로 석유탱크내의 내용물 증가로 인한 압력의 상승이 이루어지게 되어 기화 개스는 외부로 방출되게 된다. 이때의 기화 개스는 밀폐된 석유탱크중 석유가 묻어있는 심지출몰통 사이로 빠져 나가게 되는데 이때는 심지에도 불꽃이 남아있는 상태이므로 기화 개스가 이 불꽃을 지날때 불완전 연소되어 심한 냄새와 함께 그을음을 내게되는 것이다. 또한 만일 외부 충격으로 스 토브가 전도되는 경우에는 기화 개스도 함께 연소되므로서 화재의 위험을 배가시키는 결과를 가져왔던 것이다.The oil stove of the present invention refers to any mechanism used for cooking or heating by immersing oil in a wick and burning it.
