Liquid fuel combustors are not designed to always burn any kind of liquid fuel normally, and are designed to use the fuel that suits each device.
Even if the burner structure is almost the same, it is possible to use a specific fuel by changing the detailed structure.

Liquid fuels have different properties depending on their fractionation temperature, and for fuels that are difficult to vaporize, such as kerosene and light oil, thermal reflux from the burner promotes vaporization to stabilize combustion. If liquid fuel such as gasoline or thinner, which has a low fractionation temperature, is used in a combustor where the heat circulation is large and the fuel is easily heated, the amount of vaporized gas generated will be abnormally large.
If the amount of vaporized gas becomes large, the calorific value becomes large and the burner temperature becomes high. For this reason, the oil tank is exposed to high temperatures, which accelerates the vaporization of the fuel, and if vaporized fuel gas leaks from the vents of the oil tank other than the burner, this fuel gas will be ignited by the flame of the burner. A kerosene combustor can become a fireball in an instant, causing a fire accident.

This idea solves the above problems, 1.
2 is a flexible membrane, and 2 is a cylinder with a bottom, and a part of the wall surface of the cylinder 2 with a bottom is made up of the flexible membrane 1. 3 is the oil tank of the kerosene combustor with burner 7 attached, 11
is a cartridge tank that is attached to the oil tank 3 with the cap with a valve facing down, and when the cartridge tank 11 is removed to supply oil and the cap with a valve is facing down and is installed in the oil tank 3, the cartridge tank 11 is A certain amount of fuel flows into the oil tank 3,
The oil level in the oil tank 3 remains approximately constant. 4
is a switch attached opposite to the flexible membrane 1 of the bottomed cylinder 2; the bottomed cylinder 2 is inverted and its bottom is attached to the top plate of the oil tank 3; is submerged in the oil, looking into the bottom plate of oil tank 3. Therefore, the inside of the bottomed cylindrical body 2 forms a sealed chamber, and the switch 4 is switched depending on the change in the internal pressure of the bottomed cylindrical body 2.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, 8 is an automatic fire extinguishing system;
is a vibration-sensitive weight, and when the vibration-sensitive weight 9 is activated, it automatically lowers the wick of the oil burner to extinguish the fire. 10 is a solenoid installed near the automatic fire extinguishing device 8;
When a different type of fuel is used, the switch 4 is switched, the solenoid 10 is activated, and the automatic fire extinguishing system is activated.

In this type of combustor having the configuration described above, fuel is supplied into an oil tank 3 by a cartridge tank 1, and combustion is performed by a burner 7 of a kerosene combustor. At this time, when the temperature of the oil tank 3 rises as the combustor is used, the fuel in the oil tank 3 will also evaporate, and the oil tank 3 during normal combustion will evaporate.
The temperature is set so that stable combustion can be expected even if a small amount of kerosene evaporates. However, when gasoline is used in this combustor, it accelerates vaporization even at this temperature, and steam leaks out from the air circulation holes of the oil tank, filling the frame of the kerosene combustor, and eventually ignites with the flame of burner 7. cause an accident.

In this design, the tip of the bottomed cylinder 2 is placed in oil to form a closed space like a closed tip, and the inside of the bottomed cylinder 2 is prevented by tilting during movement or ripples during refueling. A part of the air flows out and fuel enters instead, and the oil level in the bottomed cylinder 2 is not located on the end surface of the cylinder 2 but inside the cylinder 2.

For this reason, the fuel supplied to the oil tank 3 accelerates evaporation when the ambient temperature rises as the combustor is used.
This vaporized fuel dissipates into the oil tank 3 which is open to the atmosphere, and is collected within the bottomed cylinder 2 to increase the internal pressure. This vapor pressure varies depending on the properties of the fuel, and the vapor pressure of gasoline is 0.45 to 0.8 Kg/cm 2 , which is a big difference compared to the vapor pressure of kerosene, which is 0.14 to 0.21 Kg/cm 2 . For this reason, the flexible membrane 1 hardly deforms under the steam pressure when kerosene is normally used, and when the steam pressure is applied when gasoline is used, the generated steam pushes down the oil level in the bottomed cylinder 2 and becomes flexible. By setting the membrane 1 to deform, it was possible to switch the switch 4 when using gasoline.

As described above, the extremely simple structure in which the bottomed cylindrical body 2 equipped with a pressure detection mechanism is attached to the oil tank 3 of a conventional kerosene combustor by overturning the oil tank 3 allows the kerosene combustor to be more sensitive than kerosene, which could not be detected at all in the past. For the first time, it has become possible to determine whether or not a different type of fuel is being used, which is easily oxidized.

In other words, if combustion is started by mistakenly using gasoline, thinner, etc., which can directly cause an accident as a foreign fuel, the switch 4 will change when the burner 7 reaches the flame position for normal combustion, causing the operator to troubleshoot the problem with the fuel. By using this device, the safety of kerosene combustors has been significantly improved.
