Claims (23)

  1. (a)에폭시수지, (b) 상기 에폭시수지를 경화하는데 적합한 경화제 및(c) 하기 (a)-(d)의 공급원을 제공하는데 적합한 물질들의 혼합물로 구성된 첨가제 성분, (a) 인, (b) 아연, (c) 붕소, (d) 열분해 팽창가스;으로 구성되어 있으며, 상기 조성물이 열 또는 화염에 노출시 탄소질 탄소질 목탄을 형성할 수 있는 팽창성 경화 조성물.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 첨가제성분이 보강충전재를 더 함유하는 조성물.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 보강충전재가 섬유질 또는 소평판 형태인 조성물.
  4. 제3항에 있어서 보강충전재가 규회석인 조성물,
  5. 제1항 내지 제 4항중 어느 하나에서 에폭시수지가 방향족 에폭시수지인 조성물.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 방향족 에폭시수지가 다가방향족 알콜의 폴리글리시딜에테르인 조성물.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 에폭시수지가 4,4'-이소프로필리덴디페놀의 디글리시딜에테르인 조성물.
  8. 제1항 내지 제7항중 어느 하나에서 경화제가 폴리아민인 조성물.
  9. 제7항에 있어서, 폴리아민 경화제가 아민과 지방족 지방산의 반응생성물인 조성물.
  10. 제1항 내지 제9항중 어느 하나에서 인공급원을 제공하기에 적합한 물질이 구조 (NH4)n+2PnO3n+1(여기서 n은 적어도 2의 정수임)로 표시되는 다인산암모늄인 조성물.
  11. 제10항에 있어서, n이 적어도 50의 정수인 조성물.
  12. 제1항 내지 제11항중 어느 하나에서 인 공급원을 제공하기에 적하한 물질이 인-함유 아미드인 조성물.
  13. 제1항 내지 제12항중 어느 하나에서 팽창가스 공급원을 제공하기에 적합한 물질이 질소함유 물질인 조성물.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 팽창가스 제공물질이 멜라민인 조성물,
  15. 제1항 내지 제14항중 어느 하나에서 아연공급원을 제공하기에 적합한 물질이 산화아연, 붕산아연, 또는 인산아연인 조성물.
  16. 제1항 내지 제15항중 어느 하나에서 붕소공급원을 제공하기에 적합한 물질이 붕산, 붕산암모늄 또는 붕산나트륨인 조성물.
  17. 제1항 내지 제15항중 어느 하나에서 한패키지에 에폭시수지가 들어있으며, 두번째 패키지에 경화제가 들어있는 두 패키지 시스템에서 첨가제 성분이 에폭시수지 패키지나 경화제 패키지중 어느 하나나 또는 두 패키지 모두에 존재하는 조성물,
  18. 제17항에 있어서, 경화제가 잠재성 경화제인 원패키지 시스템으로 되어 있는 조성물.
  19. 기질표면에 제1항 내지 제18항중 어느 하나의 조성물 코팅을 적용한후 팽창성 조성물을 메시부재로 덮여싸는 것으로 구성된 화재 및 과도한 열로부터 기질을 보호하는 방법.
  20. 제19항에 있어서, 전체 메시부재가 캡슐팅되도록 메시부재를 상기한 팽창성 조성물 코팅으로 덮어싸는 것이 포함된 방법.
  21. 제1항 내지 제18항중 어느 한 조성물을 기질표면에 적용시키는 것으로 구성된 화재상태에서 기질의 온도상송속도를 감소시키는 방법에서 상기 조성물은 외부보강재 없이 기질에 접착되기에 적합하며, 상기 조성물이 약 1.5cm 두께로 10W49 강철비임에 적용되어 언더라이터스 실험 UL-263을 받았을 때 생성된 목탄이 적어도 약 2시간동안 강철의 온도를 538℃ 이하로 유지시킬 수 있는 화재상태에서 기질의 온도상승 속도를 감소시키는 방법.
  22. 제21항에 있어서, 기질이 강철 지주 구조재인 방법.
  23. 제19항 내지 제22항중 어느 한 방법에 의해 처리된 화재상태에서 온도상승속도가 감소된 기질.
