Abstract

Sustained-release capsules are formulated such taht they are hydrodynamically balanced so that, upon contact with gastric fluid, the formulation requires and maintains a bulk d. of<1, thereby being buoyant in the fluid and remaing so until substantially all of the active ingredient is released. The formulation comprises, e.g., chlorodiazepoxide 30.6, hydroxypropy1 cellulose( 4000CPS ) 100.4, lactose 30.0, sterox K 58.0, talc 50.0 and Mg stearate 6.0mg.
