Provided is a method to substitute a word in streaming content, capable of providing an advertisement related to the streaming content. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a content providing server provides streaming content, which allows a user to receive and use a web novel or webtoon by a predetermined episode or range in real time. The content providing server comprises: an advertisement information reception unit to receive first advertisement information from an advertisement providing server; a database to store a tree structure including at least first, second, and third levels with respect to advertisement targets based on the received first advertisement information; and an advertisement processing unit to substitute a predetermined word included in the streaming content with second advertisement information to transmit the streaming content to an external terminal.
