Abstract
The terminal assembly of the automotive alternator includes a terminal connected to the diode of the rectifier assembly, and a diode protection shield covering the diode. Since the terminal assembly includes the diode protection shield that covers the diode of the rectifier assembly, it is possible to effectively prevent foreign matter from entering the diode without a separate cover member.
Description
The present invention relates to a terminal assembly of an automotive alternator.
The automotive alternator includes a terminal assembly including a terminal welded to a diode constituting a rectifier assembly.
Typically, since the terminal assembly has a structure in which the diode can not be completely covered, a part of the head of the diode is exposed to the outside. As a result, there is a possibility that the diode may be contaminated by foreign substances. Particularly, a foreign matter may flow between the diode and the heat sink, and a diode short may occur.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a terminal assembly capable of preventing foreign matter from flowing into a diode constituting a rectifier assembly of an automotive alternator.
A terminal assembly of an automotive alternator according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a terminal connected to a diode of a rectifier assembly, and a diode protection shield covering the diode.
The diode protection shield may be formed to surround the entire top and side surfaces of the diode.
The diode protection shield may include a top surface portion and a side surface portion extending downward from an end of the top surface portion.
According to the present invention, since the terminal assembly includes the diode protection shield that covers the diode of the rectifier assembly, it is possible to effectively prevent foreign matter from being introduced into the diode without a separate cover member.
