Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a curtain airbag device that protects a passenger by expanding the curtain airbag in a car crash, and more particularly, to a curtain airbag mounting device that couples a curtain airbag to a vehicle.
In general, the inner panel covered by the headlining is disposed above the side door of the vehicle. The curtain airbag is received in a folded state in the space formed by the headlining and the inner panel.
When the curtain airbag device is operated, the airbag is deployed by the gas supplied from the inflator and inflated toward the inside of the vehicle by pushing out the bottom of the headlining.
The curtain airbag has an airbag that is inflated by a gas and a plurality of tabs installed at the upper edge of the airbag and fixed to the inner panel. The tab is connected to a mounting bracket of metal material which is fixed to the inner panel through the fastening member. The tab thus cooperates with the mounting bracket to allow the airbag to hang on the inner panel.
In the curtain airbag device having such a structure, if the tab is short, the airbag is deployed inside the vehicle rather than the lower side along the side window at the initial stage of the airbag deployment, and there is a problem of damaging the surrounding structural parts. On the other hand, when the tab is long, there is a problem in that the flying position occurs in the mounting position of the airbag device and the deployment direction is not stable.
Therefore, it is required to have a certain length for the preferred deployment aspect of the airbag. However, as the tab has a certain length as described above, it is supported forcelessly from the folded airbag so that the mounting bracket sags from the folded airbag when the curtain airbag device is installed. In this case, in order to couple the mounting bracket to the inner panel, the operator has to set up the mounting bracket and adjust the position to a certain position of the inner panel, and then there is a workaround to be fixed to the vehicle body through the fastening member.
Patent Document 1 (US Patent Application Publication No. US 2012/0056409, published date: 2012.03.08) shows an example of a conventional airbag apparatus.
An object of the present invention is to ensure that the connecting member maintains the desired length when the curtain airbag is deployed, and that the length of the connecting member is kept short when the curtain airbag device is mounted (undeployed) so that the connecting member is upright from the folded airbag. It is to provide a curtain airbag mounting device to maintain the state to improve the installation workability.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a curtain airbag mounting apparatus that can reduce the installation space by keeping the length of the tab short in the mounting state of the curtain airbag device to facilitate the installation work in the limited space formed by the headlining and the vehicle body It is.
At least one belt-shaped connecting member connected to an upper edge of the airbag to achieve the above object, and having a reduced installation length including at least one folded portion at a central portion thereof when the airbag is folded; And at least one mounting bracket connected to the connection member to fix the airbag to the vehicle body.
In the curtain airbag mounting apparatus according to the present invention, the end of the airbag connecting portion of the connecting member connected to the upper edge of the airbag is disposed to face upward of the vehicle body in the folded state of the airbag, and the airbag and the lower portion of the end A connection line may be provided, and the folding portion may be positioned below the connection line such that the bracket connection portion connected to the bracket of the connection member may overlap the airbag connection portion.
In the curtain airbag mounting apparatus according to the present invention, the connecting member may be folded into a "U" shape in the folded state of the airbag and coupled to the airbag and the mounting bracket.
In the curtain airbag mounting apparatus according to the present invention, the non-deployment of the airbag may further include at least one wrapping member that maintains the folded state of the connection member and maintains the folded state of the airbag.
In the curtain airbag mounting apparatus according to the present invention, the ramping member may include a support portion supported between the connection member and the airbag, and a coupling portion coupled to the bracket of the connection member after wrapping the outer surface of the folded airbag. have.
In the curtain airbag mounting apparatus according to the present invention, the supporting portion of the wrapping member may be connected to the upper edge of the airbag together with the connecting member through the connecting line, and the coupling portion may have an opening fitted to the outside of the mounting bracket. have.
In the curtain airbag apparatus according to the embodiment of the present invention, the length of the connecting member is kept short, so that the mounting bracket can be maintained upright without sagging from the folded airbag, thereby providing an advantage of easily coupling the mounting bracket to the vehicle body.
In addition, it is possible to reduce the installation space by keeping the length of the connecting member short in the mounting state of the curtain airbag device is provided with an advantage that can facilitate the installation work in the limited space formed by the headlining and the vehicle body.
