PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for measuring the thickness defect of a bladder used in a tire vulcanization apparatus are provided to prevent a lowering of reliability on a measurement result despite the leakage of the air due to bad assembly between a bladder and a clamp. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring the thickness defect of a bladder used in a tire vulcanization apparatus comprises upper and lower clamps(2,3), a compressed air supply device(4), a camera(5), an analysis processing part(6) and a monitor(7). The upper and lower clamp fixes a bladder(1). The compressed air supply device supplies the air inside bladder. The camera takes a photograph of a plane view of the bladder. The analysis processing part analyzes the plane image and converts the plane image into data. The monitor displays the result analyzed by the analysis processing part.
