Description
본 특허 출원은 그 전체로 본원에 참고로 포함된, 2006년 7월 27일자로 출원된 US 특허 출원 11/426,792에 대해 우선권을 주장한다.
본 발명의 실시양태는 일반적으로 디젤 배기물 처리 시스템 모니터링, 보다 특히 디젤 엔진 내의 촉매의 기능의 간접 모니터링이 가능한 촉매 성분을 포함하는 디젤 배기물 처리 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것이다.

가솔린 엔진 시스템에서와 마찬가지로, 디젤 엔진 시스템에는 오염물을 저감시키기 위해 오염 제어 장치가 사용된다. 디젤 산화 촉매 (DOC) 및 미립자 물질 (PM) 필터, 예를 들어, 촉매화된 그을음 필터 (CSF)를 포함하는 이러한 장치는 엔진의 배기 시스템 내에 설치된다. 탄화수소 전환의 원인인 촉매가 노후될수록, 전환 효율이라고 칭하는 연소 부산물을 저감시키는 그의 능력이 감소된다. 이러한 연소 부산물에는 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소가 포함되지만, 여기에 한정되지는 않는다.

미국 내의 디젤 차량은 연방 시험 절차 (FTP) 시험 도중에 측정된 그들 각각의 표준에 따른 탄화수소 한계를 초과할 수는 없음을 의미하는 미국 환경보호국(Environmental Protection Agency: EPA) OBD II 및 캘리포니아 대기 자원 위원회(California Air Resources Board: CARB) OBD II 요건을 충족시켜야 한다. 이런 요건을 충족시키기 위해, 차량 운행 도중에 HC 전환을 모니터링할 필요가 있다. 디젤 방출물은 가솔린 엔진 방출물보다 더 중질의 보다 응축가능한 HC 성분을 함유 하기 때문에, 중질의 HC 방출물은 촉매 활성화 온도(light-off) 미만의 온도에서 촉매 상에 흡착될 수 있다. 따라서, 디젤 엔진에서 촉매 전후의 HC 수준을 측정하면, 실제로 후-촉매 HC 감소가 촉매에 저장된 HC에 기인할 때 HC 전환이 일어나는 것으로 보일 수도 있다. 따라서, 촉매 후의 HC를 모니터링함으로써 디젤 엔진 내의 촉매 효율을 정확하게 평가하는 것은 불가능하다.
차량 운행 도중에 탄화수소 방출물을 직접 검출하는데 이용가능한 수단이 없기 때문에, 가솔린-동력 차량은 촉매의 산소 저장 용량과 탄화수소에 대한 그의 실제 전환 성능 사이의 상호연관성을 사용하는 간접 측정법을 이용한다. 삼원(three-way) 촉매 (TWC)를 이용하는 가솔린 엔진에서는, 공기 대 연료 비율이 연료-풍부 및 연료-희박 엔진 운행 조건 사이에서 진동한다. 삼원 촉매 내에 함유된 산소 저장 성분 (OSC)은 연료가 풍부한 엔진 운행 조건 하에서는 배기물에 산소를 방출시키고 연료가 희박한 운행 조건 하에서는 배기물로부터 산소를 흡수함으로써, 촉매 내의 화학량론적 조건을 유지하는 촉매적 목적을 갖는다. 이로써 OSC 기능은 연료가 풍부한 운행 조건 동안 HC 및 CO의 최적의 산화뿐만 아니라 연료가 희박한 운행 조건 동안 NOx가 N2가 되는 환원을 가능케 한다. 따라서, OSC 기능성은 모든 엔진 운행 조건 하에서 TWC 상에서의 HC, CO 및 NOx의 유효한 촉매적 제거를 위한 선행요건이다. 동시에, 산소를 방출 또는 흡수하는 OSC의 능력은 가솔린 OBD 시스템에서 TWC의 촉매적 기능을 모니터링하는 수단으로서 작용한다. 이런 유형의 모니터링은 지금껏 디젤 엔진 시스템에 적용되지 못했었는데, 이는 상기 시스템이 OSC 성분을 불필요하게 만드는 일정한 연료-희박 엔진 운행 조건 하에서 조작되기 때문이다.

또한, 그을음 필터는 HC 및 CO를 산화시켜서, 이러한 오염물을 "양성" 방출물로 전환시킨다. VOF의 산화로부터 생성된 가스는 일반적으로 비-오염성이며, CSF 촉매의 활성 부위를 물질적으로 방해 또는 차단시키지 않는다.
하나 이상의 실시양태에서, CSF 상의 귀금속 코팅의 로딩(loading)은 1 g/ft3 이상 및 약 100 g/ft3 이상의 범위이다. 본 발명의 실시양태에 따라 사용할 수 있는 적합한 SCR 촉매로는 양수인의 ZNX SCR 촉매가 포함된다. 산소 저장 성분은 바람직하게는 희토류 금속으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 금속의 1종 이상의 산화물, 가장 바람직하게는 세륨 화합물 또는 프라세오디뮴 화합물 (프라세오디미아)을 함유하며, 가장 바람직한 산소 저장 성분은 산화세륨 (세리아)이다. 바람직하게는 산소 저장 성분은 벌크 형태이다. 벌크 형태라 함은 조성물이, 비금속 워시코트 내에 용액 중 분산된 것과 반대로, 바람직하게는 직경이 1 내지 15 마이크로미터 이하만큼 작을 수 있는 미세 입자로서의 고체임을 의미한다.
일부 실시양태에서, U.S. 특허 제5,057,483호에 기재된 바와 같은 산소 저장 성분으로서 동시-형성된 세리아-지르코니아 복합체의 벌크한 미세 미립자 물질을 이용하는 것이 유리하다. 이러한 입자는 안정화된 알루미나 워시코트와 반응하지 않으며, 장시간 동안 900℃에 노출시 40 ㎡/g을 초과하는 BET 표면적을 유지한다. 세리아는 바람직하게는 고체 용액을 형성하기 위해 세리아-지르코니아 복합체의 총 중량의 약 15 내지 약 85 중량%로 지르코니아 매트릭스 도처에 균질하게 분산된다. 동시-형성된 (예를 들어, 동시-침전된) 세리아-지르코니아 미립자 복합체는 세리아-지르코니아를 함유하는 입자 중 세리아 유용성을 강화시킬 수 있다. 세리아는 산소 저장 성분으로서 작용하는 한편, 지르코니아는 세리아의 분산을 안정화 시킨다. 하나 이상의 실시양태에서, 산소 저장 성분의 양은 촉매의 산소 저장 용량의 저하가 디젤 촉매가 탄화수소 및/또는 일산화탄소를 전환시키는 능력의 저하와 상호연관될 수 있도록 충분한 양으로 존재한다. 예를 들어, 디젤 촉매가 배기 스트림 중 탄화수소 또는 일산화탄소를 저감시키는 능력이 특정한 예정된 또는 소정의 수준 미만으로 떨어지는 경우에는, 또한 저하된 산소 저장 용량에 기인하여, OBD 시스템에 의해 검출된 촉매의 상류 및 하류에서 측정된 람다 신호 사이의 지연 시간도 감소된다. 산소 저장 성분은 귀금속 성분의 탄화수소 전환이 소정의 수치 미만으로 감소하는 귀금속 성분의 탈활성화 온도 범위와 일치하는 소정의 탈활성화 온도 범위를 가질 수 있다. 따라서, 이런 상호연관성은 OSC의 저하와 디젤 촉매 성능의 저하의 측정에 의해 획득될 수 있다. 이때, OBD 시스템은 배기 시스템 정비의 필요성을 나타내는 신호 또는 알람을 차량 운행자에게 제공할 수 있다.

유용한 촉매제로는 백금족 금속 성분, 즉, 팔라듐, 백금, 로듐, 루테늄 및 이리듐 성분 중 하나 이상이 포함되며, 백금, 팔라듐 및/또는 로듐이 바람직하다. 촉매제는 전형적으로는 금속에 따라 300 g/ft3 이하, 바람직하게는 약 3 내지 250 g/ft3의 양으로 사용된다. 백금족 금속 성분의 양은 담체 부피로 나눈 중량에 기초하며, 전형적으로는 입방 피트당 물질의 그램으로 표현한다.
당업자에게 명백해질 것이지만, 촉매제로서 작용하는 백금족 금속 성분은 사용 도중 복수의 산화 상태로 촉매 내에 존재할 수 있다. 예로써, 팔라듐 성분은 촉매 내에 팔라듐 금속, Pd(II) 및 Pd(IV)로서 존재할 수 있다. 촉매를 제조하는 한 가지 방법에 따르면, 백금족 금속 성분, 예컨대 백금족 금속의 적합한 화합물 및/또는 착물을 이용하여, 촉매 성분을 지지체, 예를 들어, 활성화된 알루미나 지지체 입자 상에 분산시킬 수 있다. 본원에서 사용되는 바와 같이, "백금족 금속 성분"이라는 용어는 하소 또는 촉매의 사용시에 분해되거나, 또는 다르게는 촉매적으로 활성인 형태, 통상 금속 또는 금속 산화물로 전환되는 임의의 백금족 금속 화합물, 착물 등을 의미한다. 백금족 금속의 수용성 화합물 또는 수분산성 화합물 또는 착물은, 촉매적 금속 화합물을 지지체 입자 위에 함침 또는 침착시키는데 사용되는 액체가 촉매적 금속, 또는 그의 화합물 또는 착물, 또는 촉매 조성물의 다른 성분과 불리하게 반응하지 않고, 가열 및/또는 진공의 적용시 휘발 또는 분해에 의해 촉매로부터 제거될 수 있는 한, 이용할 수 있다. 일부 경우에는, 촉매가 사 용되어 운행 도중에 고온에 맞닥뜨리게 될 때까지는 액체가 완전히 제거되지 않을 수 있다. 일반적으로, 경제적 측면 및 환경적 측면의 관점 둘 다로부터, 백금족 금속의 가용성 화합물의 수용액이 바람직하다. 예를 들어, 적합한 화합물은 클로로백금산, 아민-가용화 수산화백금, 질산팔라듐 또는 염화팔라듐, 염화로듐, 질산로듐, 헥사민 로듐 클로라이드 등이다. 하소 단계 도중에, 또는 적어도 촉매 사용의 초기 단계 도중에, 그러한 화합물은 백금족 금속 또는 그의 화합물의 촉매적으로 활성인 형태로 전환된다.
유용한 촉매적 지지체는 고표면적의 내화성 산화물 지지체로 제조될 수 있다. 유용한 고표면적의 지지체로는 알루미나, 티타니아, 실리카 및 지르코니아로부터 선택된 1종 이상의 내화성 산화물이 포함된다. 이러한 산화물로는, 예를 들어, 실리카 및 금속 산화물, 예컨대 알루미나 (비정질 또는 결정질 알루미나-지르코니아, 알루미나-크로미아, 알루미나-세리아 등일 수 있는 혼합 산화물 형태, 예컨대 실리카-알루미나, 알루미노실리케이트 포함)가 포함된다. 지지체는 바람직하게는 감마 또는 활성화된 알루미나 패밀리의 구성원, 예컨대 감마 및 에타 알루미나를 비롯한 알루미나, 및 존재하는 경우에는, 소량, 예를 들어, 약 20 중량% 이하의 다른 내화성 산화물로 실질적으로 구성된다. 바람직하게는, 활성화된 알루미나의 비표면적은 60 내지 300 ㎡/g이다.
앞서 기술한 산소 저장 성분은 당업계에 공지된 분산법에 의해 촉매적 워시코트 내에 포함될 수 있다. 한 가지 방법은 촉매제와 밀접하게 접촉되어 산소 저장 성분의 산화물을 함유하는 촉매층을 얻기 위해, 산소 저장 성분을 지지체, 예컨 대 수용액 형태의 백금족 금속-함유 지지체 상에 함침시키고, 생성된 혼합물을 공기 중에서 건조 및 하소시키는 것에 의한 조성물 상의 함침을 포함한다. 사용할 수 있는 수 가용성 또는 분산성 분해가능한 산소 저장 성분의 예로는 아세트산세륨, 아세트산프라세오디뮴, 질산세륨, 질산프라세오디뮴 등의 수용성 염 및/또는 콜로이드성 분산액이 포함되지만, 여기에 한정되지는 않는다. U.S. 특허 제4,189,404호에는 질산세륨을 이용하는 알루미나계 지지체 조성물의 함침이 개시되어 있다.
또 다른 방법에서, 촉매적 워시코트 조성물 중 산소 저장 성분은 바람직하게는 벌크 형태의 세리아 및/또는 프라세오디뮴인 산소 저장 성분을 포함하는 벌크한 산소 저장 조성물일 수 있다. 세리아가 가장 바람직하다. 그러한 벌크 성분의 설명 및 사용은 본원에 참고로 포함된 U.S. 특허 제4,714,694호에 나와 있다. 또한 참고로 포함된 U.S. 특허 제4,727,052호에 나와 있듯이, 벌크 형태란 세리아 입자가 활성화된 알루미나 입자와 부가혼합되어서 세리아가, 예를 들어, 세리아 화합물 (하소시에 알루미나 입자 내에 배치된 세리아로 전환됨)의 용액으로 알루미나 입자를 함침시키키는 것과 대조적으로 고체 또는 벌크 형태로 존재함을 의미한다.
부가적으로, 촉매적 워시코트 조성물은 지르코늄으로부터 유도된 화합물, 바람직하게는 산화지르코늄을 함유할 수 있다. 지르코늄 화합물은 수용성 화합물, 예컨대 아세트산지르코늄으로서 또는 비교적 불용성인 화합물, 예컨대 수산화지르코늄으로서 제공될 수 있으며, 이들 둘 다 하소시에는 산화물로 전환된다. 촉매적 워시코트 조성물의 안정화 및 촉진을 강화시키기에 충분한 양이어야 한다.
안정화제가 촉매적 워시코트 조성물에 포함될 수 있다. 안정화제는 마그네슘, 바륨, 칼슘 및 스트론튬으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 금속, 바람직하게는 스트론튬 및 바륨으로부터 유도된 1종 이상의 알칼리 토금속 성분으로부터 선택될 수 있다. 알칼리 토금속은 하소시에 산화물이 되는 가용성 형태로 적용될 수 있다. 가용성 바륨은 질산바륨, 아세트산바륨 또는 수산화바륨으로서 제공되고, 가용성 스트론튬은 질산스트론튬 또는 아세트산스트론튬으로서 제공되는 것이 바람직하며, 상기 모두는 하소시에 산화물이 된다. 촉매층 조성물에서, 알루미나와 조합되는 안정화제의 양은 조합된 알루미나, 안정화제 및 백금족 금속 성분의 총 중량을 기준으로, 0.05 내지 30 중량%, 바람직하게는 약 0.1 내지 25 중량%일 수 있다.
촉매적 워시코트 조성물은 란탄 금속 성분 및 네오디뮴 금속 성분으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1종 이상의 촉진제를 임의로 함유하며, 바람직한 성분은 산화란탄 (란타나) 및 산화네오디뮴 (네오디미아)이다. 이러한 화합물은 알루미나 지지체용 안정화제로서 작용한다고 알려져 있지만, 본 발명의 조성물 내에서 그들의 일차적인 목적은 반응 촉진제로서 작용하는 것이다. 촉진제는 바람직한 화합물의 또 다른 화합물로의 전환을 강화시키는 물질로 간주된다. 디젤 촉매, 예컨대 DOC에서, 촉진제는 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소가 물 및 이산화탄소가 되고 질소 산화물이 질소 및 산소가 되는 촉매적 전환을 강화시킨다.
란탄 및/또는 네오디뮴 성분은, 존재하는 경우에는, 바람직하게는 전구체, 예컨대 아세테이트, 할라이드, 니트레이트, 술페이트 등을 비롯한 가용성 염으로부 터 형성된다. 가용성 촉진제 용액은 바람직하게는, 하소 후 산화물로의 전환을 위해, 고체 성분을 함침시키는데 사용된다. 바람직하게는, 촉진제는 특히 백금족 금속 성분을 포함하는 조성물 중 다른 성분과 밀접하게 접촉된다.
본 발명의 촉매층 조성물은 다른 통상적인 첨가제, 예컨대 술피드 억제제, 예를 들어 니켈 또는 철 성분을 함유할 수 있다. 산화니켈은 술피드 억제제의 일례이며, 사용하는 경우에는, 비금속 언더코트의 약 1 내지 25 중량%의 양으로 존재한다.
본 발명의 촉매적 워시코트는 임의의 적합한 방법에 의해 제조할 수 있다. 한 가지 바람직한 방법은 지지된 백금족 금속 성분을 형성하기 위해 본질적으로 모든 용액을 흡수하기에 충분히 건조한, 1종 이상의 수-가용성 또는 분산성 백금족 금속 성분 및 미분된 고표면적의 내화성 산화물의 혼합물을 제조하는 단계를 포함한다. 1종을 초과하는 백금족 금속 성분을 촉매적 워시코트 조성물에 사용하는 경우에는, 추가의 백금족 금속 성분(들)은 제1 백금족 금속 성분과 동일 또는 상이한 내화성 산화물 입자에 지지될 수 있다.
따라서, 본 발명의 실시양태는 귀금속 성분을 활성 성분으로서, 지지체 물질을 귀금속용 담체로서 및 제올라이트를 수소 저장 물질로서 함유하는 디젤 촉매를 포함한다. 일부 실시양태에서는, 귀금속 성분과 밀접하게 접촉된 산소 저장 성분이 제공된다. 이는 산소 저장 성분 기능의 열적 탈활성화와 귀금속 기능의 열적 탈활성화 사이의 상호연관성을 통해 획득된다. OSC의 산소 저장 용량은 풍부한 배기 가스의 펄스를 가하고, 디젤 촉매의 전 (상류) 및 후 (하류)에서 측정된 람다 반응의 시간 지체를 측정함으로써 측정된다. 아래에서 검토하는 실험에서, CO/HC-산화 활성은 촉매 활성화 온도 실험 및/또는 동적 차량 시험에서 측정할 수 있다.
이런 기능은 탄화수소를 전환시키는 디젤 촉매의 능력과 상호연관되는 방식으로 디자인될 수 있기 때문에, 그러한 전환은 간접법에 의해 측정할 수 있다. 차량에 대한 온라인 모니터링에 사용할 수 있는, 산소 저장 용량과 탄화수소 전환 사이의 관계식이 제공된다.
하나 이상의 실시양태에 따르면, OSC와 귀금속 기능의 열적 탈활성화 사이의 상호연관성을 얻기 위해, 산소 저장 성분은 그의 탈활성화의 온도 구역이 디젤 촉매 내의 귀금속 기능의 탈활성화의 온도 구역과 일치하도록 선택된다. 도 1에 나타낸 디젤 배기 라인의 실시양태가 디젤 산화 촉매를 포함하지만, 다른 촉매를 사용할 수 있음이 이해될 것이다. 하나 이상의 실시양태에 따르면, 디젤 촉매의 촉매적 활성의 저하의 간접 모니터링의 개념은 일반적으로 NSR (NOx 저장 환원) 및 SCR (선택적 촉매적 환원) 촉매를 포함하는 디젤 배기 가스 후처리 시스템에 적용가능하다. 본원에 개시된 간접 모니터링의 개념을 특정 촉매 시스템의 CO/HC 산화 기능뿐만 아니라, 디젤 배기물 후처리 시스템에서의 NOx 환원 기능의 모니터링에도 확장시킬 수 있다. 이는 OSC 기능의 열적 저하와 특정 NOx 환원 촉매 (NSR, SCR)의 NOx 환원 기능의 열적 저하 사이의 유사한 상호연관성을 수립함으로써 얻을 수 있다.
하기의 미국 특허는 본원에 참고로 포함되어 그 일부를 이룬다. 구체적으로 는, 하기의 특허에 개시된 촉매의 조성 및 그 조성물의 제법 및/또는 개시된 필터 또는 SCR 촉매에 이를 적용하는 방법이 그 전체로 본원에 참고로 포함된다 (U.S. 특허 제4,833,113호; U.S. 특허 제4,961,917호; U.S. 특허 제5,100,632호; 및 U.S. 특허 제5,804,155호). 본원에 참고로 포함된 특허에 개시된 촉매를 본 발명에 사용할 수는 있지만, 그들이 그 자체로 또는 그들이 먼저 본 발명을 형성하지는 않는다.
하기의 실시예는 본 발명을 추가로 예시하지만, 물론 어떠한 방식으로도 그의 범주를 한정하는 것으로 해석해서는 안된다.
실시예 1
OSC를 함유하는 샘플의 제법 및 시험
여러 층에서의 산소 저장 성분 (세리아)의 양, 유형 및 위치를 달리한 시험 매트릭스를 만들었다. 각 샘플에는 아래에 추가로 기재한 바와 같은 하부 코트 및 상부 코트가 포함되어 있었다. 다음과 같이 5개의 샘플을 제조하였다.
A - OSC 없음
B - OSC1 별개형 (하부 코트에만 세리아 1)
C - OSC1 조합형 (하부 코트 및 상부 코트 중 세리아 1)
D - OSC2 조합형 (하부 코트에만 세리아 2)
E - OSC2 별개형 (하부 코트 및 상부 코트 중 세리아 2)
두 가지 상이한 세리아 물질은 상업적으로 이용가능하였으며, 순수한 세리아 의 표면적은 200 ㎡/g 내지 250 ㎡/g이다. 세리아 1은 표면적이 보다 작은 세리아였고, 세리아 2는 표면적이 보다 큰 세리아였다.
워시코트의 제법
하부 코트의 제법: 알루미나 (예를 들어, 실리카-도핑된 알루미나)를 물 및 산 (예를 들어 아세트산)에 분산시키고, 대략 10 마이크로미터의 입자 크기가 되도록 분쇄하였다. 제올라이트 (예를 들어 제올라이트 베타) 및 세리아 함유 OSC 및 결합제 (예를 들어 지르코닐 아세테이트)를 슬러리에 순차적으로 첨가하여 슬러리와 혼합하였다. 100 ㎡/g의 표면적을 갖는 1.5 g/in3 실리카 알루미나, 0.5 g/in3 제올라이트 H-베타, 0.5 g/in3 세리아 및 0.1 g/in3 (아세테이트로서의) ZrO2를 함유하는 슬러리를 담체 기질 상에 코팅시켰다. 하부 워시코트층은 어떠한 귀금속도 함유하지 않았다. 코팅 후에, 슬러리를 단일체 상에 코팅시키고, 건조 (공기 중에서 450℃) 및 하소 (공기 중에서 450℃)시켰다.
상기 나타낸 각각의 세리아 샘플을 함유하는 샘플 B, C, D 및 E에서도 이런 절차를 따랐다. 샘플 A에서의 하부 코트는, 세리아를 제거한 것을 제외하고, 상기와 같이 제조하였다.
세리아를 함유하는 상부 코트의 제법 (샘플 C, D)
알루미나 (예를 들어 실리카-도핑된 알루미나)를 (Pt 전구체, 예컨대 아민 안정화된 히드록시 Pt(IV) 착물 또는 질산백금 또는 Pt 테트라 아민 니트레이트를 함유하는) 수성 Pt 용액으로 함침시켜 공극 부분을 채웠다. 이어서, Pt-함침된 알 루미나 프릿(frit)을 (Pd 전구체, 예컨대 질산팔라듐 또는 Pd 테트라 아민 니트레이트를 함유하는) Pd의 수용액으로 함침시켜 알루미나 지지체의 공극을 채워서 초기 함침(incipient wetness)시켰다. 이어서, Pt-Pd-알루미나 프릿을 물에 분산시켜 슬러리를 제조하고, 교반하였다. 적합한 결합제 (예를 들어 지르코닐 아세테이트)의 첨가 후에, 알루미나 슬러리의 입자 크기를 분쇄 공정에 의해 감소시켰다. 이어서, 세리아를 함유하는 OSC를 슬러리에 첨가하고, 슬러리와 혼합하였다. 귀금속 지지체로서 100 ㎡/g의 표면적을 갖는 1.5 g/in3 실리카 알루미나, 0.5 g/in3 제올라이트 H-베타, 0.5 g/in3 세리아, 및 Pt 및 Pd (2:1 비율)를 함유하는 상부 워시코트를 하부 워시코트 위에 코팅시켰다. 0.05 g/in3의 (아세테이트로서의) ZrO2를 결합제로서, 소결에 대해 PM 상을 안정화시키기 위해 사용하였다. 슬러리를 기질 위에 코팅시킨 후에, 기질을 건조 (공기 중에서 110℃) 및 하소 (공기 중에서 450℃)시켰다.
세리아를 함유하지 않는 상부 코트 (샘플 A, B, E)
상기 절차로부터 세리아를 제거한 것을 제외하고, 세리아를 함유하는 상부 코트에 대한 상기 절차를 따랐다.
5개의 샘플을 실험실용 반응기에서 시험하고, 결과를 도 3에 나타내었다. 특히, 상부 코트 내에 귀금속 및 OSC를 조합함으로써 귀금속이 산소 저장 성분과 밀접하게 접촉되어 있는 샘플 (샘플 C 및 D)은 산소 저장 용량과 촉매 활성화 온도 사이의 검출가능한 상호연관성을 나타내었다. OSC가 없는 샘플 (샘플 A) 및 OSC가 하부 코트에만 함유되어 있어서 귀금속과 분리되어 있는 샘플 (샘플 B 및 E)은 산소 저장 용량과 촉매 활성화 온도 사이의 검출가능한 상호연관성을 덜 나타내었다.
실시예 2
FTP 방출 사이클 시험
도 3에 나타낸 실험실용 반응기로 수득한 데이터를 입증 및 뒷받침하기 위해, 추가로 FTP 방출 사이클 시험을 수행하였다. OSC1/PM 조합형에 대한 절차에 따라 제조하고 750℃ 내지 850℃에서 노후시킨, 실시예 1로부터의 2개의 샘플을 동적 엔진 벤치(bench) (2.2 리터 커먼 레일(common rail) 엔진)에서 측정하였다. 결과를 도 4에 나타내었다. 750℃에서 노후시킨 샘플은 허용되는 HC 성능 (명백히 Tier 2 BIN 5 방출 표준 미만) 및 높은 산소 저장 용량을 나타낸 반면, 850℃에서 노후시킨 샘플은 불량한 HC 성능 및 극히 작은 산소 저장 용량을 나타내었다. 따라서, 샘플의 노후 (감소하는 HC 성능으로서 측정)과 촉매의 OSC 기능 사이의 매우 양호한 상호연관성은 OSC 물질 및 촉매 디자인의 적절한 선택에 의해 수립할 수 있다.
상기는 본 발명의 실시양태에 관한 것이지만, 본 발명의 기본 범주로부터 벗어나지 않고 본 발명의 다른 추가의 실시양태를 고안할 수 있으며, 본 발명의 범주는 하기의 청구의 범위에 의해 결정된다.
Claims (10)
- 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소를 산화에 의해 전환시키도록 적합화된 산소 저장 성분 및 귀금속 성분을 포함하는 디젤 촉매를 포함하며, 산소 저장 성분은 귀금속 성분의 탄화수소 전환이 소정의 수치 미만으로 감소하는 귀금속 성분의 탈활성화 온도 범위와 일치하는 소정의 탈활성화 온도 범위를 갖는 것인 디젤 엔진 배기물 처리 물품.
- 제1항에 있어서, 디젤 촉매가 디젤 산화 촉매를 포함하는 것인 물품.
- 제2항에 있어서, 귀금속 및 산소 저장 성분이 밀접하게 접촉되어 있는 물품.
- 제2항에 있어서, 귀금속 및 산소 저장 성분이 분리되어 있는 물품.
- 제2항에 있어서, 산소 저장 성분이 세리아, 프라세오디미아 및 그의 혼합물로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 화합물을 포함하는 것인 물품.
- 제4항에 있어서, 산소 저장 성분 및 귀금속이 별개의 기질 위에 있는 물품.
- 제1항에 있어서, 촉매가 촉매화된 그을음 필터를 포함하는 것인 물품.
- 디젤 산화 촉매 및 촉매화된 그을음 필터로부터 선택된 디젤 촉매;디젤 촉매의 상류에 위치한 제1 람다 센서 및 디젤 촉매로부터 하류에 위치한 제2 람다 센서; 및센서 사이에 위치한 산소 저장 성분을 포함하는 디젤 배기 시스템.
- 제8항에 있어서, 산소 저장 성분이 디젤 촉매로부터 하류에 위치하는 것인 디젤 배기 시스템.
