Description
Claims (17)
- 액정 디스플레이의 응답 특성을 결정하는 방법으로서,(a) 제1 휘도 값으로부터, 알려지지 않은 제2 휘도 값으로 이행(transition)하는 제1 시간을 측정하는 단계를 포함하고,(b) 상기 액정 디스플레이의 제1 응답 시간 특성은 상기 제1 시간에 기초하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,(a) 제3 휘도값으로부터, 알려지지 않은 상기 제2 휘도 값으로 이행하는 제2 시간을 측정하는 단계를 포함하고,(b) 상기 액정 디스플레이의 제2 응답 시간 특성은 상기 제2 시간에 기초하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서,(a) 상기 액정 디스플레이의 제3 응답 시간 특성은 상기 제1 시간 및 상기 제2 시간에 기초하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,(a) 상기 제3 응답 시간 특성은 상기 제1 및 제2 시간들의 그래픽 표시를 포함하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,(a) 상기 제3 응답 시간은 상기 디스플레이의 수치적 표시 특성인 방법.
- 액정 디스플레이의 동적 감마 응답 특성(dynamic gamma response characteristic)을 결정하는 방법으로서,(a) 제1 휘도 값으로부터 다른 휘도 값으로의 이행 사이에 소정의 제1 시간 기간이 만료된 때에 기초하여 제2 휘도 값을 측정하는 단계를 포함하고,(b) 상기 액정 디스플레이의 제2 응답 시간 특성은 제2 시간에 기초하는 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 소정의 제1 시간 기간은 정수의 프레임 시간 기간들에 기초하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 정수는 1인 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 제2 휘도 값은 상기 디스플레이에 새로운 구동 값이 적용된 후 대략 1 프레임 시간에 측정되는 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 제2 휘도 값은 디스플레이의 입력 화상 값들과 그 결과로서 생긴 휘도 사이의 비선형 감마에 기초하여 수정되는 방법.
- 액정 디스플레이의 동적 감마 응답 특성을 결정하는 방법으로서,(a) 제1 휘도 값으로부터 제2 휘도 값으로의 이행 사이에 제1 시간 기간이 만료된 후에 상기 제2 휘도 값을 측정하는 단계를 포함하고,상기 제1 시간 기간의 지속기간(duration)은 상기 디스플레이의 상기 측정된 휘도에 기초하지 않고,(b) 상기 액정 디스플레이의 제2 응답 시간 특성은 상기 제1 시간 기간에 기초하는 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 소정의 제1 시간 기간은 정수의 프레임 시간 기간들에 기초하는 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 정수는 1인 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 제2 휘도 값은 상기 디스플레이에 새로운 구동 값이 적용된 후 대략 1 프레임 시간에 측정되는 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 제2 휘도 값은 디스플레이의 입력 화상 값들과 그 결과로서 생긴 휘도 사이의 비선형 감마에 기초하여 수정되는 방법.
- 액정 디스플레이의 응답 특성의 프레젠테이션(presentation)으로서,(a) 상기 디스플레이의 휘도에 대한 구동 값들의 범위를 표시하는 제1 축;(b) 상기 디스플레이에 대한 휘도 값들을 표시하는 제2 축; 및(c) 상기 제1 및 제2 축에 의해 측정되는 상기 프레젠테이션 상에 표시되는 다수의 선들을 포함하고,상기 선들 각각은 제1 휘도 값으로부터 제2 휘도 값으로의 이행 사이에 제1 시간 기간이 만료된 후에 상기 제2 휘도 값의 표시를 제공하고,상기 제1 시간 기간의 지속기간은 상기 디스플레이의 측정된 휘도에 기초하 지 않는 프레젠테이션.
- 액정 디스플레이의 동적 감마 응답 특성을 결정하는 방법으로서,(a) 화소에 제1 휘도 값을 제공하는 단계;(b) 제1 소정 시간 기간 동안 상기 화소를 상기 제1 휘도 값으로부터 제2 휘도 값으로 이행하는 단계;(c) 상기 제1 소정 시간 기간 후에 상기 화소의 휘도를 측정하는 단계;(d) 제2 소정 시간 기간 동안 상기 화소를 상기 제2 휘도 값으로부터 제3 휘도 값으로 이행하는 단계; 및(e) 상기 제2 소정 시간 기간 후에 상기 화소의 휘도를 측정하는 단계를 포함하고,(f) 상기 액정 디스플레이의 상기 응답은 상기 제1 및 제2 소정 시간 기간들 후의 상기 측정들에 기초하는 방법.
