Abstract
Description
Claims (6)
- 한 쌍의 기판 사이에 액정층을 유지하여 이루어지고, 하나의 도트 영역내에 투과 표시를 행하는 투과 표시 영역과 반사 표시를 행하는 반사 표시 영역이 마련된 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 대향면측에는 각각 전극이 구비되고, 또한,상기 액정층은, 초기 배향 상태가 수직 배향을 나타내는 유전 이방성이 부(負)인 액정으로 이루어지고,상기 반사 표시 영역에는 해당 반사 표시 영역의 액정층 두께를 상기 투과 표시 영역의 액정층 두께보다 작게 하는 액정층 두께 조정층이 상기 한 쌍의 기판중 어느 한쪽의 대향면측에 형성되고,상기 초기 배향 상태가 수직 배향을 나타내는 액정 분자의 전압 인가시 경도 방향(tilting direction)을 규제하는 배향 규제 수단으로서, 상기 전극의 일부를 절결하여 이루어지는 전극 슬릿과, 상기 기판의 대향면에서 상기 액정층으로 돌출하여 이루어지는 볼록 형상부를 구비하며,상기 액정층 두께 조정층이 형성된 기판측에 있어, 상기 반사 표시 영역에는 상기 배향 규제 수단중 전극 슬릿만이 선택적으로 형성되고, 상기 투과 표시 영역에는 상기 배향 규제 수단중 적어도 볼록 형상부가 선택적으로 형성되어 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 한 쌍의 기판 사이에 액정층을 유지하여 이루어지고, 하나의 도트 영역내에 투과 표시를 행하는 투과 표시 영역과 반사 표시를 행하는 반사 표시 영역이 마련된 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 대향면측에는 각각 전극이 구비되고, 또한상기 액정층은, 초기 배향 상태가 수직 배향을 나타내는 유전 이방성이 부인 액정으로 이루어지고, 상기 반사 표시 영역에는, 해당 반사 표시 영역의 액정층 두께를 상기 투과 표시 영역의 액정층 두께보다 작게 하는 액정층 두께 조정층이, 상기 한 쌍의 기판중 어느 한쪽의 대향면측에 형성되며,상기 초기 배향 상태가 수직 배향을 나타내는 액정 분자의 전압 인가시 경도 방향을 규제하는 배향 규제 수단으로서, 상기 전극의 일부를 절결하여 이루어지는 전극 슬릿과, 상기 기판의 대향면으로부터 상기 액정층으로 돌출하여 이루어진 볼록 형상부를 구비하고,상기 액정층 두께 조정층이 형성된 기판측에 있어, 상기 반사 표시 영역에는 상기 배향 규제 수단중 전극 슬릿만이 선택적으로 형성되고, 상기 투과 표시 영역에는 상기 배향 규제 수단중 볼록 형상부만이 선택적으로 형성되어 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 반사 표시 영역에 형성된 전극 슬릿과 상기 투과 표시 영역에 형성된 볼록 형상부 사이에는 상기 액정층 두께 조정층이 형성된 기판과 대향하는 쪽의 기판에 전극 슬릿 또는 볼록 형상부가 형성되어 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 볼록 형상부는 상기 수직 배향된 액정 분자의 전압 인가시 경도 방향을 규제하는 경사면을 구비하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 전극 슬릿은 상기 수직 배향된 액정 분자의 전압 인가시 경도 방향을 규제하는 경사 전계를 생기게 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 청구항 1 또는 2에 기재된 액정 표시 장치를 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 전자기기.
