- 금속성 기재와 일체로 형성된 작업면을 갖는 결합성 다이아몬드의 보디를 구비하는 PCD 요소에 있어서,상기 작업면으로부터 원격지의 보디의 제1 용적은 촉매 물질을 함유하고,상기 작업면에 인접한 보디의 제2 용적은 실제로 촉매 물질이 없는 것을 특징으로 하는 PCD 요소.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제2 용적은 상기 작업면으로부터 적어도 0.1 mm의 깊이로 연장한 것을 특징으로 하는 PCD 요소.

- 제 41 항에 있어서,상기 보디에서의 크리스탈의 대부분은 상기 작업면으로부터 대략 0.2 mm 와 0.3 mm 사이 이내에 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 PCD 요소.
- 제 41 항에 있어서,상기 기재는, 철 그룹 바인더 물질을 갖는 텅스텐 탄화물인 것을 특징으로 하는 PCD 요소.
