PURPOSE: A steering force adjusting device of a hydraulic power steering system is provided to improve travelling stability upon driving at a high speed by operating a torsion bar only when power more than a certain level is given. CONSTITUTION: A gear linkage installed with a steering force adjusting device includes a housing, a torsion bar(45) installed in the center of the housing, a pinion shaft(46) covering the torsion bar and a valve(47) operated by the change of a moment according to the operation of the torsion bar. Two guide protrusions(101) are fixed on an upper face of the valve and a supporting portion(102) is fixed on one side of the pinion shaft. Both ends of a leaf spring(103) covering the outer circumference of the pinion shaft are connected to both sides of the guide protrusion and the supporting portion. Thereby, the leaf spring elastically supports both sides of the guide protrusion and the supporting portion so that the torsion bar is operated only when power more than a certain level is given.
