Claims (10)
- 하전된 전기 영동 입자;전하를 띠지 않는 유전 영동 입자;상기 전기 영동 입자와 유전 영동 입자가 위치하는 픽셀영역과;상기 픽셀 영역에 상기 전기 영동 입자의 선택적 이동을 유도하는 전기장을 형성하는 전기 영동 전극 구조체; 그리고상기 픽셀 영역에 상기 유전 영동 입자의 선택적 이동을 유도하는 전기장을 형성하는 유전 영동 전극 구조체;를 구비하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 전기 영동 전극 구조체는 상기 픽셀영역의 양측에 마련되어 상기 전기 영동 입자의 이동을 위한 전기장을 형성하는 제1전극과 제2전극을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 유전 영동 전극 구조체는 상기 픽셀영역의 양측에 마련되는 제3전극과 제4전극을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,유전 영동 전극 구조체의 제3전극과 제4전극은 각각 상기 전기 영동 전극 구조체의 제1전극과 제2전극과 함께 상기 픽셀영역 내에 유전 영동 입자의 이동 방향을 결정하는 비대칭적 전기장 구배(electric-field gradient)를 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 제3전극과 제4전극은 상기 제1전극 및 제2전극에 대향하는 것으로 전기장을 집중시키는 복수의 전계 집중부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 전기 영동 입자는 음 하전 입자(negatively-charged particle)와 양 하전 입자를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 유전 영동 입자는 유전율을 달리하는 두 종류의 고유전 영동 입자 및 저유전 영동 입자를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 전기 영동 입자 및 유전 영동 입자들은 액체 전해질로 된 매질 내에 위 치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 고유전 영동 입자의 유전율은 상기 매질에 비해 높고, 상기 저유전 영동 입자는 상기 매질에 비해 낮은 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 전기 영동 입자 및 유전 영동 입자들은 액체 전해질로 된 매질 내에 위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-유전 영동 디스플레이 소자.
