Abstract

PURPOSE: An edible chicken feed supplement containing an extract of garlic and grin syrup(chochung) containing allicin together with herbal extract is provided. It improves meat quality and reduces the occurrence of disease when fed to edible chickens. CONSTITUTION: The edible chicken feed supplement contains: an extract of 100 parts by weight of garlic and 10 to 500 parts by weight of grin syrup; and 10 to 50 parts by weight of a herbal extract, based on 100 parts by weight of the garlic. The herbal plants are Forsythiae Fructus, Mume Fructus, Bupleuri Radix, Acanthopanacis Cortex, Epimedii Herba, Scutellariae Radix, Coptidis Rhizoma, Phellodendri Cortex, Nelumbinis Semem, Dioscoreae Radix, Caulis Lonicerae, Artemisia Iwayomogi, Eucommiae Cortex, Ligustrum japonicum, Atractylodis Rhizoma Alba, Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Cnidii Rhizoma, Paeoniae Radix, Glycyrrhizae Radix or the like.
