Abstract

PURPOSE: Sewage treatment apparatus and method are provided to primarily treat the sewage using microorganisms by passing sewage through sand layer and gravel layer in which plant bodies are planted and secondly treat the first treated water treated using the microorganisms by flowing first treated water into anaerobic treating tank. CONSTITUTION: The sewage treatment apparatus comprises a catchment tank(2) into which sewage is flown; an aerobic tank(20) which has a volume capable of sufficiently storing the sewage flown into the catchment tank(2) and treats the sewage in an aerobic atmosphere; and an anaerobic tank(50) which has an anaerobic atmosphere and is installed in the lower part of the bottom surface of the aerobic tank(20), wherein the aerobic tank(20) comprises first impermeable membrane(52) installed on the bottom and circumference of the aerobic tank(20) to prevent leakage of sewage water, an aggregate layer(31) formed by stacking gravel and sand on the first impermeable membrane(52), a distribution pipe(12) installed in the upper part of the aggregate layer(31), at least one or more final distribution pipes(14) connected to the distribution pipe(12) to distribute sewage inside the distribution pipe(12) into the aerobic tank(20), an oyster shell layer(16) installed on the circumference of the final distribution pipes(14), plant bodies(18) planted on the upper part of the aggregate layer(31), at least one or more diffusers(30) installed inside the aggregate layer(31) to supply air to the plant bodies(18) and aggregate layer(31), an air supply member(32) connected to the diffusers(30), and a catchment pipe(34) installed in the lower part of the aggregate layer(31) to catch first treated water, and the anaerobic tank(50) comprises a treated water discharge pipe(42) connected to the catchment pipe(34) to guide the first treated water to the anaerobic tank(50), second impermeable membrane(52') installed on the bottom and circumference of the anaerobic tank(50) to prevent leakage of the first treated water, partition walls(54) installed inside the anaerobic tank(50) to guide flow path of the first treated water, and a discharge pipe(58) moved along the partition walls(54) and installed at one side of the anaerobic tank(50) to discharge second treated water to the outside.
