Abstract

PURPOSE: Provided are a nature friendly method and apparatus for treating sewage without power, wherein the apparatus comprises an aerobic zone which is soil with roots of plants therein and an anaerobic zone which is soil under the aerobic zone. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a sewage tank(2), an aerobic zone(20) for treating sewage in aerobic condition and an anaerobic zone(50) for treating the sewage treated by the aerobic zone(20) in anaerobic condition, wherein the aerobic zone(20) includes a first protection layer(52) provided at the bottom and sides thereof for preventing the sewage from being leaked, a gravel and sand layer(31) on the first protection layer(52), plants(22) planted in the gravel and sand layer(31), a horizontal air distribution pipe(26) buried in the gravel and sand layer(31) for supplying air to the aerobic zone(20), and a vertical pipe(24) connected to the horizontal air distribution pipe(26) at one end and exposed in the air at the other end, and wherein the anaerobic zone(50) includes a treated water inlet pipe(36), a second protection layer(52') provided at the bottom and sides thereof for preventing the treated water from being leaked, compartments(54) for guiding treated water outside and a drain pipe(58) for draining finally treated water outside. The method comprises the steps of passing the sewage water in the sewage water tank(2) through the aerobic zone(20), passing the first treated water by the aerobic zone(20) through the anaerobic zone(50), and draining the finally treated water by the anaerobic zone through the drain pipe(58).
