Claims (17)
- 수은증기 및 버퍼가스를 밀봉하는 폐쇄 루프 관형 램프 엔벌로프(12)를 포함하는 무전극 램프(10);상기 램프 엔벌로프(12) 둘레에 배치되고 페라이트 재료를 포함한 변압기 코어(22);상기 변압기 코어(22)상에 배치된 입력 권선(30); 및방전전류를 가진 방전이 상기 램프 엔벌로프(12)에서 발생하도록 상기 수은증기 및 버퍼가스에 충분한 고주파수 에너지를 공급하기 위해 상기 입력 권선에 접속된 고주파수 전력원을 포함하는 전기 램프 어셈블리에 있어서,0.67mbar(0.5torr) 이하의 가스 압력 및 2암페어 이상의 방전 전류를 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 무전극 램프(10)는 상기 방전에 의해 방사된 자외선에 응답하여 소정의 파장 범위의 방사선을 방사하기 위해 상기 램프 엔벌로프의 내부 표면상에 인광물질(16)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 고주파수 전력원(20)은 50㎑ 내지 3㎒ 범위의 주파수를 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 고주파수 전력원(20)은 100㎑ 내지 400㎑ 범위의 주파수를 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 버퍼가스는 불활성가스를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 버퍼가스는 크립톤을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 관형 램프 엔벌로프는 2.5 내지 10cm(1 내지 4인치) 범위의 단면적을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 변압기 코어(22)는 환상 구조를 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 램프 엔벌로프(12) 둘레에 배치된 제 2 변압기 코어(24)와, 상기 제 2 변압기 코어(24)상에 배치되고 상기 고주파수 전력원에 접속된 제 2 입력 권선(32)을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 램프 엔벌로프(12)는 타원형인 것을 특징으로 하는전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 램프 엔벌로프(52)는 폐쇄루프를 형성하기 위해 단부가 결합된 제 1 및 제 2 병렬 튜브(54, 56)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 코어 전력손실은 상기 변압기 코어와 연관되며, 전체 전력은 상기 고주파수 전력원예 의해 공급되고, 상기 코어 전력손실은 상기 고주파수 전력원에 의해 공급된 상기 전체 전력의 15% 이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 변압기 코어의 변압기 코어 체적 대 상기 무전극 램프의 방전 전력의 비는 와트당 2입방 센티미터 보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 램프 엔벌로프내의 압력은 0.27mbar(0.2torr) 이하이며, 상기 방전 전류는 약 5암페어 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 램프 엔벌로프는 자외선 투과 재료를 포함하며, 상기 무전극 램프는 자외선을 방사하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프 어셈블리.
- 버퍼가스 및 수은증기를 밀봉하는 폐쇄루프 관형 램프 엔벌로프를 구비한 무전극 램프를 포함하는 전기 램프를 동작시키기 위한 방법으로서,상기 램프 엔벌로프내의 상기 수은증기 및 상기 버퍼가스의 압력을 0.67mbar(0.5torr) 보다 작게 설정하는 단계;2암페어와 이상의 방전전류를 가진 방전이 상기 램프 엔벌로프에서 발생하도록 상기 수은증기 및 상기 버퍼가스에 충분한 고주파수 에너지를 유도 결합시키는 단계를 포함하는 전기 램프를 동작시키기 위한 방법.
- 제 16항에 있어서, 상기 압력을 설정하는 단계는 상기 수은증기 및 상기 버퍼가스의 압력을 0.27mbar(0.2torr) 이하로 설정하는 단계를 포함하며, 고주파수 에너지를 유도 결합시키는 단계는 5암페어 이상의 방전전류를 발생시키기에 충분한 고주파수 에너지를 유도 결합하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 램프를 동작시키기 위한 방법.
