Abstract
PURPOSE: An automatic control system of a pilot-scale bioreactor is provided, thereby automatically monitoring and controlling cultivation conditions of the pilot-scale bioreactor, so that the productivity of the pilot-scale bioreactor can be improved. CONSTITUTION: An automatic control system of a pilot-scale bioreactor comprises a computer collecting data of process parameters such as pH, temperature, pressure, dissolved oxygen, foam, etc and controlling the parameters to be arranged within the scope of the assigned value of each parameter; a bioreactor controlling portion consisting of a touch monitor connected to the computer through RS-232C, PLC transmitting the process parameter data to the computer and outputting the automatic control signal from the computer, and multiple process parameter controlling portions collecting the parameter values from multiple sensors to transmit them to PLC and outputting the manual control signal of each of the process parameters; and a bioreactor control operating portion consisting of multiple sensors for detecting pH, temperature, pressure, dissolved oxygen, foam, etc within the bioreactor, multiple valves for regulating the parameters, a motor and a heater.
