Abstract
Description
〔1〕チタン酸アルカリ土類金属の結晶を構成単位とする結晶積層体であって、
前記構成単位となる結晶が立方晶、正方晶又は直方晶であり、
前記構成単位となる結晶の1次粒子径が500nm以下であり、
かつ前記結晶が、その{100}面方向に配向して積層されている
ことを特徴とする結晶積層体。
〔2〕前記結晶積層体の平均幅が、1μm以上である、〔1〕に記載の結晶積層体。
〔3〕前記結晶積層体の平均厚みが、50nm以上である、〔1〕又は〔2〕に記載の結晶積層体。
〔4〕前記結晶積層体表面に存在する結晶の1次粒子径が、前記結晶積層体内部に存在する結晶の1次粒子径よりも大きいことを特徴とする、〔1〕〜〔3〕のいずれかに記載の結晶積層体。
〔5〕前記結晶積層体の比表面積が10m2/g以上である、〔1〕〜〔4〕のいずれかに記載の結晶積層体。
〔6〕〔1〕〜〔5〕のいずれかに記載の結晶積層体の表面上に、チタン酸アルカリ土類金属結晶ナノ粒子を有する構造体であって、
前記ナノ粒子の結晶配向が、前記結晶積層体と同一方向に配向していることを特徴とする構造体。
〔7〕前記ナノ粒子の1次粒子径が、前記結晶積層体表面に存在する結晶の1次粒子径の2倍以上である、〔6〕に記載の構造体。
〔8〕前記ナノ粒子の1次粒子径が、50nm以上である、〔6〕又は〔7〕に記載の構造体。
〔9〕チタン酸アルカリ土類金属の結晶積層体の製造方法であって、
酸化チタンナノ粒子が規則的に積層された酸化チタンメソ結晶と、アルカリ土類金属原子源とを水熱反応に供することを特徴とする、結晶積層体の製造方法。
具体的には、酸化チタンメソ結晶の{001}面を結晶の成長点とし、酸化チタンメソ結晶中の空間に、アルカリ土類金属原子が入り込み、ぺロブスカイト構造を形成し、本発明のチタン酸アルカリ土類金属の結晶積層体となる。換言すると、生じた結晶積層体は、「チタン酸アルカリ土類金属のメソ結晶」ということができる。
ここで「メソ結晶」とは、いわゆるメソサイズの粒子径を有する結晶粒子が、一定の秩序を有して形成される超構造体をいう。ここでメソサイズとは、通常、10nm以上、好ましくは100nm以上、通常1000μm以下、好ましくは10μm以下程度の大きさをいう。超構造体とは、通常、粒子又は結晶が、規則的に配列した構造をいう。
そして前記メソ結晶は、通常、粒子又は結晶が、3次元的に高い規則性をもって配列しているものであり、その点でナノ粒子の無秩序な凝集体とは異なる。具体的には走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)等の画像から規則性のある配列が観察できることや、透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)の測定結果の解析から規則的に配列していること、具体的には均一な格子縞が観察できる等により、その構造が確認できるものである。
本発明の結晶積層体は、チタン酸アルカリ土類金属の結晶が、後述する規則性をもって配向し、積層した構造を有している。
なお上記の結晶系は、特に限定はされないが、通常は、各チタン酸アルカリ土類金属の結晶が安定な状態での結晶系をいう。
また前記内部結晶の1次粒子径は、前記表面結晶を除外して得られるTEM像、または本発明の結晶積層体を物理的に破壊し前記表面結晶が存在しない部分のSEM像を観察するか、この部分に対し前記したシェラーの式から1次粒子径を求めることができる。前記内部結晶は、通常、前記表面結晶に比べて1次粒子径は均一である。
結晶積層体の平均幅は1μm以上が好ましく、2μm以上がより好ましく、1μm〜10μmがさらに好ましく、2μm〜10μmがさらに好ましい。平均厚みは50nm以上が好ましく、50nm〜2μmがより好ましく、50nm〜1μmがさらに好ましい。
ここで本発明で用いられる酸化チタンメソ結晶とは、特許文献1又は2に記載される酸化チタンの結晶であり、酸化チタンのナノ粒子が、規則的に配向して積層された超構造体である。具体的には、酸化チタンのナノ粒子が、その{001}面で配向して規則正しく配列、積層された酸化チタンの結晶をいう。
前記の酸化チタンメソ結晶は、特に限定はされないが、その平均幅は、通常10nm以上、好ましくは100nm以上であり、通常10μm以下であり、好ましくは2μm以下である。前記酸化チタンメソ結晶は、その平均幅の平均厚みに対する比が大きく、通常5〜50であり、好ましくは10〜20である。なお酸化チタンメソ結晶の平均幅及び平均厚みは、前記の本発明の積層体における平均幅及び平均厚みと同じである。
前記酸化チタンメソ結晶の比表面積は、通常10〜150m2/gである。
また前記酸化チタンメソ結晶は、その構造中に細孔を有し、その細孔径は、通常5〜15nmである。
得られたNH4TiOF3結晶を、酸素雰囲気下400〜700℃の条件下に焼成する(本焼成)。この本焼成により、トポタクティック反応を起こさせ、酸化チタンメソ結晶が得られる。この際、上記の空気雰囲気下での焼成と同じ炉で行ってもよいし、異なる炉で行ってもよい。なお、第1焼成において、酸素雰囲気下で400〜700℃の条件で焼成した場合には、本焼成を行わずに酸化チタンメソ結晶を得ることも可能である。なお、本発明において、酸素雰囲気とは、100%の酸素ガスもしくは酸素濃度が90%以上の酸素と空気の混合ガス雰囲気が好ましい。
基板としては、シリコン、ガラス等が挙げられる。アンモニア塩としては、NH4NO3、NH4Cl、NH4ClO4、(NH4)2SO4、(NH4)2CO3等が挙げられる。界面活性剤としては、ポリオキシエチレン骨格を有するポリエーテル、例えばポリオキシエチレンポリオキシプロピレンコポリマーが好ましい。
焼成温度は、300〜600℃、さらに400〜500℃が好ましい。
ここで水熱反応とは、通常、高温高圧下で、主として水を溶媒とした溶液を用いた反応をいう。具体的には例えば、水溶性の原料を、水に溶解させ水溶液とし、この水溶液を耐圧容器に入れ、自己発生圧下で水の沸点以上の温度で反応させる方法が挙げられる。
前記アルカリ土類金属源としては、特に限定はされず、水熱反応に通常用いることのできるアルカリ土類金属や、それを含む化合物を用いることができるが、例えば水酸化アルカリ土類金属、アルカリ土類金属塩化物、炭酸アルカリ土類金属、硫酸アルカリ土類金属、硝酸アルカリ土類金属等が挙げられる。具体的には、水酸化ストロンチウム、塩化ストロンチウム、炭酸ストロンチウム、硫酸ストロンチウム、硝酸ストロンチウム等が挙げられる。
水熱反応の際に用いる溶媒は、通常、水を主成分とする溶媒を用い、水熱反応を阻害しない限り、アルコール等の水以外の溶媒を併用することもできる。
水熱合成に用いる水の量は、特に限定はされないが、酸化チタンメソ結晶及びアルカリ土類金属源の合計のモル数に対しモル比で、通常5以上、好ましくは10以上、より好ましくは50以上、更に好ましくは100以上であり、通常1000以下、好ましくは500以下、より好ましくは200以下である。
上記の溶媒の使用量は、水熱反応を阻害しない限り限定はされないが、通常、水に対して、モル比で7×10-5以上、0.06以下である。
水熱反応時には、酸化チタン結晶表面におけるチタン酸アルカリ土類金属の結晶化を促進する目的で、本発明で用いられるアルカリ土類金属源以外に、アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属の水酸化物を用いてもよい。このとき用いるアルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属の種類は、本発明で用いられるアルカリ土類金属と同じでも異なっていてもよい。
水熱反応は、特に限定はされないが、通常、自己発生圧下、又は本発明の目的物の生成を阻害しない気体加圧下で、通常は、水の沸点以上の温度に加熱し、所定の反応温度で保持することにより行なう。また水熱反応時は攪拌を伴っても、静置して反応を行ってもよい。
水熱反応の反応温度は特に限定はされないが、通常100℃以上、好ましくは150℃以上、より好ましくは200℃以上であって、通常300℃以下、好ましくは250℃以下である。
水熱反応は、特に限定されないが、前記の通り、通常、自己発生圧下、又は気体加圧下で行われるため、通常は耐圧容器内で行なう。耐圧容器は特に限定はされないが、通常反応スケール等に応じたオートクレーブ等が用いられる。
前記構造体は、通常、通算の反応時間が24時間以上、好ましくは36時間以上、より好ましくは48時間以上反応させることにより生成する。反応時間の上限は、所望の結晶積層体により適宜設定でき、特に限定はされないが、通常240時間以下である。
水熱反応は、前記積層体を生成させてから、前記構造体が生成するまで一貫で行なっても、途中でいったん取り出してもよいが、通常は、一貫して行う。
前記構造体は、前記積層体の表面に存在する粒子同士が溶出、成長を繰り返すことで形成される。
実施例において用いた分析装置及び分析条件を以下に示す。

(酸化チタンメソ結晶(TiO2)の合成)
SrTiO3メソ結晶を合成する際の原料として、まず酸化チタンメソ結晶を、国際公開第2013/115213号に記載の方法に準拠して合成した。
フッ化アンモニウム(NH4F:和光純薬工業株式会社製)2g、フッ化チタン(TiF4:シグマ・アルドリッチ社製)1.6g、硝酸アンモニウム(NH4NO3:和光純薬工業株式会社製)7gを、28mLの蒸留水に溶解し、無色の混合溶液を得た。この混合溶液をシリコンウェハ上に滴下し、電気炉中で焼成した。焼成は、常温より10℃/分で500℃まで温度上昇させた後、500℃で2時間焼成し、その後、常温になるまで冷却し、白色の粉末を得た。当該粉末を蒸留水で3回洗浄した後、乾燥機にて、80℃で8時間空気乾燥し、酸化チタンメソ結晶(以下、TMCということがある。)を得た。
得られた酸化チタンメソ結晶の粉末X線回折(XRD)パターンを図2に、また透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)像を図3(a)に示した。
図2の粉末X線回折(XRD)パターンから、酸化チタンメソ結晶はアナターゼ型であることが確認された。
(チタン酸ストロンチウム(SrTiO3)メソ結晶の合成)
合成例1で得た前記酸化チタンメソ結晶1gを、10mLのエタノールに懸濁させた。20mLの蒸留水に、水酸化ストロンチウム八水和物(Sr(OH)2・8H2O:和光純薬工業株式会社製)3.3gを加えた溶液に、撹拌をしながら前記酸化チタンメソ結晶の懸濁液を徐々に注いだ。次に攪拌を継続しながら、5M 水酸化ナトリウム(NaOH)水溶液10mL、ポリエチレングリコール(質量平均分子量Mw 400、0.8質量% in water:和光純薬工業株式会社製)水溶液10mL、水10mLを、順に上記の懸濁液に加えた。得られた懸濁液を100mLのテフロン(登録商標)製容器に入れ、アルゴンガスを溶液中に約30分吹き込み、密封した。当該容器をステンレス製の耐圧容器に入れ、電気炉中で加熱し、水熱反応を行った。水熱反応は、常温より1℃/分で200℃まで昇温した後、引き続き200℃で24時間反応させた。反応終了後、常温まで冷却した後、テフロン(登録商標)製容器内の生成物を収集した。当該生成物を蒸留水で数回洗浄した後、乾燥機にて、80℃で8時間空気乾燥し、粉末状物質を得た。得られた粉末状物質を、以下、SMC−24という。
前記SMC−24のXRDパターンを図1に、またTEM像を図3(c)に示した。
実施例1において、200℃での反応時間(水熱反応時間)を48時間にした以外は、実施例1と同様に合成を行ない、粉末状物質(以下、SMC−48)を得た。
前記SMC−48のXRDパターンを図1に、またTEM像を図3(e)に示した。
実施例1において、200℃での反応時間を12時間にした以外は、実施例1と同様に合成を行ない、粉末状物質(以下、SMC−12)を得た。
前記SMC−12のXRDパターンを図1に、またTEM像を図3(b)に示した。
実施例1において、200℃での反応時間を36時間にした以外は、実施例1と同様に合成を行ない、粉末状物質(以下、SMC−36)を得た。
前記SMC−36のXRDパターンを図1に、またTEM像を図3(d)に示した。
実施例1において、200℃での反応時間を60時間にした以外は、実施例1と同様に合成を行ない、粉末状物質(以下、SMC−60)を得た。
前記SMC−60のXRDパターンを図1に、またTEM像を図3(f)に示した。
チタン酸ストロンチウムナノ結晶(粒子径20〜40nm、シグマ・アルドリッチ社製:以下、Nanoという)を、実施例同様にXRDを測定し、結果を図2に示した。
試験例1:比表面積
合成例1、実施例1〜5及び比較例1の結晶の比表面積を前記したBET法により測定した。結果を図4及び表1に示した。
合成例1、実施例1〜5及び比較例1の結晶の細孔径及び細孔容積をBJH法により測定した。結果を図4の挿入図及び表1に示す。
実施例1〜5及び比較例1の結晶の特性を粉末XRDにより測定した。また、合成例1、実施例1〜5及び比較例1の結晶について、XRDピークの線幅から、シェラーの式を用いて、各結晶を構成するチタン酸ストロンチウム及び酸化チタンナノ結晶の粒子径を評価した。結果を図2及び表1に示す。
実施例1〜5及び比較例1のチタン酸ストロンチウムメソ結晶の構造をTEMにより観察した。結果を図3b〜fに示す。いずれもチタン酸ストロンチウムナノ結晶が規則的に並んでいた。また、数nmから数十nmの細孔が生じていた。メソ結晶上のSAEDパターンから、{100}面に沿った立方晶結晶が確認された。
エネルギー分散型X線分析(EDX)により、実施例2のチタン酸ストロンチウムメソ結晶の元素分析を行った(図8)。その結果、チタン酸ストロンチウムメソ結晶の構成元素以外の元素は検出されなかった。
定常状態拡散反射スペクトルから、実施例2のチタン酸ストロンチウムメソ結晶のバンドギャップは約3.2eVと算出された。比較例1のチタン酸ストロンチウムナノ結晶のバンドギャップと同程度であるので、このことからも、実施例2のチタン酸ストロンチウムメソ結晶には不純物が混入していないことが示唆されている。
正孔捕捉剤であるメタノールの存在下、紫外光照射下における光水素生成量を測定した。
水素生成助触媒であるロジウム−クロム複合酸化物を担持し、紫外光照射下における水の光分解によって生じる水素及び酸素の生成を測定した。光エネルギー変換効率は入射した光子の数に対して反応に利用された光子の割合と定義した。
電荷分離状態の寿命を評価するため、時間分解反射分光測定を行った。この測定は、光触媒反応の効率の評価基準である。
光生成した電子と正孔の再結合により、可視光帯にフォトルミネッセンスが観測される。チタン酸ストロンチウムメソ結晶のフォトルミネッセンス特性を評価するため、単一粒子発光イメージングを行った。発光イメージングは、高い空間分解能で表面反応を観測することができる強力な手法である。

- チタン酸アルカリ土類金属の結晶を構成単位とする結晶積層体であって、
前記構成単位となる結晶が立方晶、正方晶又は直方晶であり、
前記構成単位となる結晶の1次粒子径が500nm以下であり、
かつ前記結晶が、その{100}面方向に配向して積層されている
ことを特徴とする結晶積層体。 - 前記結晶積層体の平均幅が、1μm以上である、請求項1に記載の結晶積層体。
- 前記結晶積層体の平均厚みが、50nm以上である、請求項1又は2に記載の結晶積層体。
