Abstract
Description
図1及び図2は、本発明の実施の形態1に係るLED表示装置の構成を示すブロック図である。図1のLED表示装置は、LED表示部1と、入力端子2と、映像信号処理部3と、輝度補正部4と、駆動装置に相当する駆動部5とを備えている。
図4は、本実施の形態1に係るLED表示部1及び駆動部5の構成を示す回路図である。
電圧供給部(緑色及び青色用電源回路40並びに赤色用電源回路50)の電圧Vgb,Vrについて説明する。本実施の形態1に係るR,G,BのLEDの材料、及び、順方向電圧の一例を、表1に示す。
図6は、本実施の形態1に係るスイッチの切り替え、及び、LEDの点灯制御を示すタイミングチャートである。この図6には、電圧供給部からスイッチ20〜23を介してLEDに供給される供給電圧と、点灯されるLEDとが示されている。スイッチ20〜23のそれぞれは、3つの電圧(赤色用電源回路50の電圧Vr、緑色及び青色用電源回路40の電圧Vgb、オフ電圧)のいずれかを供給電圧として、LEDアレイに供給することが可能となっている。
以上のような本実施の形態1に係るLED表示装置によれば、点灯対象グループのLEDアレイに含まれる複数のLEDのうち、当該LEDアレイに供給すべき電圧によって点灯すべき一部のLEDを点灯させる。これにより、R,G,BのLEDのそれぞれに、適した電圧を印加することができるので、無駄な電力の消費を抑制することができ、消費電力を低減することができる。また、駆動回路80(駆動部5)などの発熱も抑制することができるので、LEDの寿命を長くすることができ、信頼性も向上する。また、LEDアレイを複数のグループ(以上の説明では2つのグループ)に区分して制御を行うため、異なるLEDアレイ上で並行してLEDを点灯させることができる。これにより、時分割制御時により点灯されるLEDの数を一定化することができるので、フリッカ現象なども抑制することができる。

- 複数のグループに区分された複数のLEDアレイ<100,101,110,111,120,121,130,131>を含むLED表示部<1>と、
互いに異なる複数種類の電圧を供給可能な電圧供給部<40,50>と、
前記電圧供給部が供給可能な前記複数種類の電圧を用いて、前記LED表示部を駆動する駆動部<5>と、
を備え、
各前記LEDアレイは、
アノードまたはカソードが互いに電気的に接続された、発光波長が異なる複数のLED<100R〜100B,101R〜101B,110R〜110B,111R〜111B,120R〜120B,121R〜121B,130R〜130B,131R〜131B>を有し、
前記駆動部は、
点灯対象の前記グループである点灯対象グループの前記LEDアレイと、当該LEDアレイに並行して供給すべき前記複数種類の電圧との組み合わせを、時分割制御により切り替え、かつ、
前記点灯対象グループの前記LEDアレイに含まれる前記複数のLEDのうち、当該LEDアレイに供給すべき前記電圧によって点灯すべき一部のLEDを、前記切り替えに同期して点灯させる、LED表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載のLED表示装置であって、
前記複数のLEDは、赤色、緑色及び青色のLED<100R〜100B,101R〜101B,110R〜110B,111R〜111B,120R〜120B,121R〜121B,130R〜130B,131R〜131B>を含む、LED表示装置。 - 請求項2に記載のLED表示装置であって、
前記複数種類の電圧は、第1電圧及び第2電圧を含み、
前記駆動部<5>は、
前記LEDアレイ<100,101,110,111,120,121,130,131>に供給すべき前記電圧が前記第1電圧である場合に、当該LEDアレイに含まれる前記赤色のLEDを前記一部のLEDとして点灯させ、前記LEDアレイに供給すべき前記電圧が前記第2電圧である場合に、当該LEDアレイに含まれる前記緑色及び前記青色のLEDを前記一部のLEDとして点灯させる、LED表示装置。 - 請求項1から請求項3のうちのいずれか1項に記載のLED表示装置であって、
前記駆動部<5>は、
前記点灯対象グループの前記LEDアレイ<100,101,110,111,120,121,130,131>に含まれる前記複数のLEDのうち、前記一部のLED以外のLEDを消灯させる、LED表示装置。 - 互いに異なる複数種類の電圧を用いて、複数のグループに区分された複数のLEDアレイ<100,101,110,111,120,121,130,131>を含むLED表示部を駆動する駆動装置<5>であって、
各前記LEDアレイは、
アノードまたはカソードが互いに電気的に接続された、発光波長が異なる複数のLED<100R〜100B,101R〜101B,110R〜110B,111R〜111B,120R〜120B,121R〜121B,130R〜130B,131R〜131B>を有し、
前記駆動装置は、
