図1〜2は、本発明の実施の形態の第1例を示している。なお、本例のピニオン軸用回転支持装置の特徴は、運転時の動トルクおよび運転開始時の起動トルクを十分に低減するべく、ピニオンギヤ側に配置したタンデム型の複列アンギュラ玉軸受13a、及び、反ピニオンギヤ側に配置した単列アンギュラ玉軸受14aの構造を工夫した点にある。その他の部分の構造および作用・効果については、前述の図10に示した従来構造の第2例とほぼ同様であるから、同等部分に関する図示ならびに説明は、省略もしくは簡略にし、以下、本例の特徴部分を中心に説明する。
図3は、本発明の実施の形態の第2例を示している。本例の特徴は、ピニオンギヤ側に配置したタンデム型の複列アンギュラ玉軸受13bに関して、両玉列20c、20d同士の間で、各玉19a、19bの直径を異ならせた点にある。すなわち、本例の場合には、両玉列20c、20dのうち、ピニオンギヤ側(図3の左側)の玉列20cを構成する各玉19aの直径(Bd19a )を、反ピニオンギヤ側(図3の右側)の玉列20dを構成する各玉19bの直径(Bd19b )よりも大きくしている。具体的には、ピニオンギヤ側の各玉19aの直径(Bd19a )を、反ピニオンギヤ側の各玉19bの直径(Bd19b )の1.01〜1.5倍としている。なお、本例の場合、ピニオンギヤ側と反ピニオンギヤ側の玉列を構成するそれぞれの玉の玉数は、ピニオンギヤ側の各玉19aの直径(Bd19a )の反ピニオンギヤ側の各玉19bの直径(Bd19b )に対する比率、及び、ピニオンギヤ側の玉列20cのピッチ円直径の反ピニオンギヤ側の玉列20dのピッチ円直径に対する比率に応じることになる。

Claims (5)
- 一端部にピニオンギヤを設けたピニオン軸をハウジングの内側に、軸方向に離隔して設けられた1対の転がり軸受により、回転自在に、かつ、両方向のアキシアル荷重を支承可能にして支持して成るピニオン軸用回転支持装置に於いて、上記両転がり軸受のうち、ピニオンギヤ側の転がり軸受が、上記ピニオン軸にピニオンギヤ側から反ピニオンギヤ側に作用するアキシアル荷重を支承可能なタンデム型の複列アンギュラ玉軸受であり、反ピニオンギヤ側の転がり軸受が、上記ピニオン軸に反ピニオンギヤ側からピニオンギヤ側に作用するアキシアル荷重を支承可能な単列アンギュラ玉軸受であり、この単列アンギュラ玉軸受を構成する外輪軌道の曲率半径をRoとし、同じく各玉の直径をBdとし、同じく外輪軌道および内輪軌道と各玉との接触角をαとした場合に、

なる関係を満たす、請求項1に記載したピニオン軸用回転支持装置。 - タンデム型の複列アンギュラ玉軸受を構成する両玉列のうち、ピニオンギヤ側の玉列は反ピニオンギヤ側の玉列に比べて、ピッチ円直径が大きく、ピニオンギヤ側の玉列に関するラジアル隙間は、反ピニオンギヤ側の玉列に関するラジアル隙間よりも小さい、請求項1または2に記載したピニオン軸用回転支持装置。
- タンデム型の複列アンギュラ玉軸受を構成する両玉列のうち、ピニオンギヤ側の玉列は反ピニオンギヤ側の玉列に比べて、玉数が多くなっている、請求項3に記載したピニオン軸用回転支持装置。
- タンデム型の複列アンギュラ玉軸受を構成する両玉列のうち、ピニオンギヤ側の玉列を構成する各玉の直径が、反ピニオンギヤ側の玉列を構成する各玉の直径よりも大きい、請求項3に記載したピニオン軸用回転支持装置。
