Abstract
Description
図21は、MVAモードを用いた従来の一般的な液晶パネルの要部の概略構成を模式的に示す断面図である。
まず、図1に示すように、ガラス基板11上に、スパッタリング法により、ITO(Indium Tin Oxide:インジウム錫酸化物)膜を、厚み100nmで全面に成膜した。その後、このITO膜をフォトリソグラフィによりパターニングすることで、上記ガラス基板11上に、画素電極および共通電極として、上記ITO膜からなる櫛歯電極12・13を、電極幅L=4μm、電極間隔S=4μmにて形成した。
電極間隔Sを4μmから5μmに変更した以外は、液晶パネル(1)と同様にして、図1に示す構成を有する液晶パネル2として、液晶パネル(2)を作製した。
電極間隔Sを4μmから6μmに変更した以外は、液晶パネル(1)と同様にして、図1に示す構成を有する液晶パネル2として、液晶パネル(3)を作製した。
電極間隔Sを4μmから7μmに変更した以外は、液晶パネル(1)と同様にして、図1に示す構成を有する液晶パネル2として、液晶パネル(4)を作製した。
電極間隔Sを4μmから2μmに変更した以外は、液晶パネル(1)と同じ条件で作製される、図1に示す液晶パネル2としての液晶パネル(5)をモデルとしたシミュレーションにより、押圧による基板20の変位が0μmのときと0.8μmのときの電圧−透過率変化を調べた。なお、上記シミュレーションには、「LCD−Master 2F」を用いた。
実施例1において、電極間隔Sを4μmから8μmに変更した以外は、液晶パネル(1)と同様にして、図1に示す構成を有する液晶パネル2として、液晶パネル(6)を作製した。

Claims (6)
- 一対の基板と、上記一対の基板間に挟持された液晶層とを備え、上記一対の基板のうち少なくとも一方の基板に第1の電極および第2の電極が設けられており、上記第1の電極と第2の電極との間に発生する横電界によって上記液晶層を駆動するとともに、電界無印加時に上記液晶層における液晶分子が上記一対の基板の基板面に垂直に配向する液晶パネルであって、
上記第1の電極および第2の電極の電極幅をLとし、上記第1の電極および第2の電極の電極間隔をSとすると、0.33≦S/(S+L)≦0.64を満足することを特徴とする液晶パネル。 - 上記S/(S+L)が、0.33≦S/(S+L)≦0.6を満足することを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶パネル。
- 一対の基板と、上記一対の基板間に挟持された液晶層とを備え、上記一対の基板のうち少なくとも一方の基板に第1の電極および第2の電極が設けられており、上記第1の電極と第2の電極との間に発生する横電界によって上記液晶層を駆動するとともに、電界無印加時に上記液晶層における液晶分子が上記一対の基板の基板面に垂直に配向する液晶パネルであって、
単位領域をX軸方向に等分割したときのX軸方向の各場所における輝度を規格化したときに、上記単位領域におけるX軸方向の総分割数に対して、階調輝度比が20%以下となる部分が占める割合を不感帯占有率とすると、該不感帯占有率が、24%以上、35%以下であることを特徴とする液晶パネル。 - 上記不感帯占有率が、25%以上、35%以下であることを特徴とする請求項3記載の液晶パネル。
- タッチパネル一体型の液晶パネルであることを特徴とする請求項1〜4の何れか1項に記載の液晶パネル。
- 請求項1〜5の何れか1項に記載の液晶パネルを備えていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
