Abstract
Description
本発明の粒子配置装置は、基板上に粒子(以下、「粒子(A)」という場合がある)を配置するための装置である。この装置は、容器と、回転手段と、塗布手段とを含む。容器は、粒子(A)の分散液を保持する。回転手段は、容器内において基板を回転させることによって、分散液への基板の浸漬と分散液からの基板の取り出しとを行う。塗布手段は、基板が分散液と接触していないときに、分散液とは異なる液体(以下、「液体(B)」という場合がある)を基板の表面に塗布する。
本発明の粒子配置方法は、本発明の粒子配置装置を用いることによって容易に実施できる。本発明の粒子配置装置について説明した事項は、以下の粒子配置方法に適用することが可能である。したがって、上述した事項については、重複する説明を省略する場合がある。また逆に、以下の粒子配置装置について説明した事項は、本発明の粒子配置装置に適用することが可能である。
本発明の配置装置の一例を、図1A、1B、2Aおよび2Bに模式的に示す。図1Aは斜視図であり、図1Bは分解斜視図である。図2Aは、図1Aの配置装置10をX方向からみた図であり、図2Bは、図2Aの線IIB−IIBにおける断面図である。

実施形態4では、実施形態1で示した配置装置を用いてシリコンナノワイヤを基板に配置する方法の一例について説明する。なお、実施形態2に示した配置装置においても、実施形態4と同様の方法でシリコンナノワイヤを基板上に配置できる。また、実施形態3に示した配置装置においても、水の塗布方法を除き、実施形態4と同様の方法でシリコンナノワイヤを基板上に配置できる。
図9Aに示すように、親液性の第1の領域91とこれを取り囲む撥液性の第2の領域92とを有する基板100を準備する。基板100には、柔軟性のあるものを選ぶ。たとえば、樹脂基板や、厚さが0.01〜0.1mmのステンレス基板を用いる。
まず、金などの触媒をあらかじめシリコン基板等の表面に形成する。次に、その基板の表面において、CVD法によってシリコンナノワイヤを成長させる。次に、その基板を分散媒に浸漬し、超音波を印加する。超音波の印加は、分散媒を入れた容器を超音波洗浄機の槽に入れることによって行う。この超音波印加によって、シリコン基板からシリコンナノワイヤが脱離する。このようにして、シリコンナノワイヤの分散液を作製できる。
図3Aに示す形状の基板100を、図3Bに示すように円筒状にして、図1に示す円筒形のタンク11の内側に固定する。固定は、たとえば、ネジ止めによって行うことができる。ネジ止めをする場合、たとえば、基板100の数カ所に直径1mm程度の孔を開け、タンク11の内壁には、基板100の孔に対応する位置にネジ孔を作っておけばよい。
図12は、図1Aの配置装置10をXの方向から見た模式図であり、ふた17およびシール18の図示は省略している。タンク11の内壁に貼り付けられた基板100は、円筒形の軸を中心に、矢印20の向きに回転する。図12の(a)〜(g)は、基板100の第1の領域91(親水性領域)近傍の模式断面図である。基板100の回転に伴い、基板100の第1の領域91近傍の状態は、(a)、(b)、(c)、(d)という順に推移し、最終的に(g)の状態になる。第1の空間15は、タンク11の一方の開口部側から他方の開口部側へ水蒸気(湿度100%)をゆっくり流すことによって、高湿度雰囲気にする。第2の空間16は、タンク11の一方の開口部側から他方の開口部側へ乾燥窒素ガスをゆっくり流すことによって、低湿度の雰囲気にする。
本発明の粒子配置装置は、基板上に粒子(以下、「粒子(A)」という場合がある)を配置するための装置である。この装置は、容器と、回転手段と、塗布手段とを含む。容器は、粒子(A)の分散液を保持する。回転手段は、容器内において基板を回転させることによって、分散液への基板の浸漬と分散液からの基板の取り出しとを行う。塗布手段は、基板が分散液と接触していないときに、分散液とは異なる液体(以下、「液体(B)」という場合がある)を基板の表面に塗布する。
本発明の粒子配置方法は、本発明の粒子配置装置を用いることによって容易に実施できる。本発明の粒子配置装置について説明した事項は、以下の粒子配置方法に適用することが可能である。したがって、上述した事項については、重複する説明を省略する場合がある。また逆に、以下の粒子配置装置について説明した事項は、本発明の粒子配置装置に適用することが可能である。

まず、金などの触媒をあらかじめシリコン基板等の表面に形成する。次に、その基板の表面において、CVD法によってシリコンナノワイヤを成長させる。次に、その基板を分散媒に浸漬し、超音波を印加する。超音波の印加は、分散媒を入れた容器を超音波洗浄機の槽に入れることによって行う。この超音波印加によって、シリコン基板からシリコンナノワイヤが脱離する。このようにして、シリコンナノワイヤの分散液を作製できる。
図3Aに示す形状の基板100を、図3Bに示すように円筒状にして、図1に示す円筒形のタンク11の内側に固定する。固定は、たとえば、ネジ止めによって行うことができる。ネジ止めをする場合、たとえば、基板100の数カ所に直径1mm程度の孔を開け、タンク11の内壁には、基板100の孔に対応する位置にネジ孔を作っておけばよい。
図12は、図1Aの配置装置10をXの方向から見た模式図であり、ふた17およびシール18の図示は省略している。タンク11の内壁に貼り付けられた基板100は、円筒形の軸を中心に、矢印20の向きに回転する。図12の(a)〜(g)は、基板100の第1の領域91(親水性領域)近傍の模式断面図である。基板100の回転に伴い、基板100の第1の領域91近傍の状態は、(a)、(b)、(c)、(d)という順に推移し、最終的に(g)の状態になる。第1の空間15は、タンク11の一方の開口部側から他方の開口部側へ水蒸気(湿度100%)をゆっくり流すことによって、高湿度雰囲気にする。第2の空間16は、タンク11の一方の開口部側から他方の開口部側へ乾燥窒素ガスをゆっくり流すことによって、低湿度の雰囲気にする。
Claims (16)
- 基板上に粒子を配置するための粒子配置方法であって、
(i)容器内の一部に、前記粒子の分散液を配置する工程と、
(ii)前記基板の表面に、前記分散液とは異なる液体を塗布する工程と、
(iii)前記容器内において前記基板を回転させることによって、前記分散液への前記基板の浸漬と前記分散液からの前記基板の取り出しとを行い、これによって前記粒子を前記基板上に配置する工程とを含む、粒子配置方法。 - 前記液体に対する前記粒子のぬれ性が、前記分散液の分散媒に対する前記粒子のぬれ性よりも高い請求項1に記載の粒子配置方法。
- 前記液体は水であり、
前記分散液は、25℃における水の溶解度が10g以下の液体である請求項2に記載の粒子配置方法。 - 前記基板の表面には、第1の領域と前記第1の領域を囲む第2の領域とが形成されており、
前記第1の領域の表面エネルギーが前記第2の領域の表面エネルギーよりも高い請求項1に記載の粒子配置方法。 - 前記粒子がシリコンナノワイヤである請求項1に記載の粒子配置方法。
- 前記容器内において、前記分散液から取り出された前記基板を乾燥する請求項1に記載の粒子配置方法。
- 基板上に粒子を配置するための粒子配置装置であって、
前記粒子の分散液を保持する容器と、
前記容器内において前記基板を回転させることによって、前記分散液への前記基板の浸漬と前記分散液からの前記基板の取り出しとを行う回転手段と、
前記基板が前記分散液と接触していないときに、前記分散液とは異なる液体を前記基板の表面に塗布する塗布手段とを含む粒子配置装置。 - 前記液体は、前記粒子に対するぬれ性が、前記分散液の分散媒よりも高い液体である請求項7に記載の粒子配置装置。
- 前記液体は水であり、
前記分散液の分散媒は、25℃における水の溶解度が10g以下である請求項8に記載の粒子配置装置。 - 前記容器が、内部に柱状の空間を有する容器である請求項7に記載の粒子配置装置。
- 前記柱状の空間のうち前記分散液を除いた空間を、前記柱状の空間の軸方向に沿って第1の領域と第2の領域とに分ける仕切り板を含み、
前記第1の領域における相対湿度を80%以上とし、
前記第2の領域における相対湿度を40%未満とする請求項10に記載の粒子配置装置。 - 前記柱状の空間の部分における前記容器の内壁に前記基板が固定されており、
前記回転手段は、前記容器の内壁と前記基板とを共に回転させる請求項10に記載の粒子配置装置。 - 前記基板は、前記内壁に沿って曲げて固定される請求項12に記載の粒子配置装置。
- 前記基板の回転の軸と重力の方向とが75°〜90°の角度をなすように前記基板が回転される請求項10に記載の粒子配置装置。
- 前記基板は前記容器に固定されておらず、
前記回転手段は、前記容器とは独立に前記基板を回転させる請求項7に記載の粒子配置装置。 - 前記分散液の体積が、前記容器内部の体積の50%以下である請求項7に記載の粒子配置装置。
