Description
活性炭の添加量は、フィルター長10mm(フィルター円周16.8mm〜25.8mm)につき10〜80mgであることが好ましい。
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a cigarette filter and a cigarette with a filter, and more particularly, a cigarette filter that can efficiently filter cigarette mainstream smoke and improve tobacco taste when cigarettes are smoked, and a cigarette having such a filter About.
Background Art In recent years, additives have been added to cigarette filters for the purpose of improving the filtration efficiency of mainstream smoke from tobacco or improving tobacco taste. In particular, cigarette filters in which activated carbon (charcoal) is added to filter fibers account for the majority of cigarette filters with filters in the Japanese market. In addition, there are areas around the world where it is customary to smoke after passing tobacco smoke through water. However, when tobacco smoke is filtered with water, the taste changes, so Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 63-276474 discloses an example of adding water to a cigarette filter. Japanese Patent Publication No. 44-29317 discloses a tobacco filter obtained by adding activated carbon and polyalkylene glycol to cellulose acetate fiber tow in a specific ratio, and Japanese Patent Publication No. 46-12957 discloses various oils and fats. A tobacco filter obtained by adding a sorbitan derivative to a filter material is disclosed.
However, although the effects of tobacco filter additives on tobacco taste may be detected sensorially, the filtration rate by component in the mainstream smoke of cigarettes is not scientifically clear, so the above addition Most of the agents are not used in tobacco filters currently on the market. As filters for tobacco, there are commercially available filters made by adding activated carbon, which is said to remove vapor components other than permanent gas through a large number of pores, to fibers, and filters made of acetate fibers and paper without added activated carbon. It is only used for tobacco.
By the way, the addition of activated carbon is an effective means for increasing the filtration efficiency of the vapor phase component in the tobacco mainstream smoke, but the pores of the activated carbon are blocked by the tar in the tobacco mainstream smoke at the initial stage of smoking, Since the adsorption activity is lost, the filtration rate of the vapor phase component in the mainstream smoke during smoking per cigarette decreases with time from the beginning of smoking to the end of smoking. In order to avoid this, if a large amount of activated carbon is added to the filter, the tobacco taste is not only deteriorated by the activated carbon odor, but also economically disadvantageous.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a cigarette filter capable of efficiently filtering mainstream tobacco smoke for each component.
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION The present inventors made cigarettes using a filter to which various additives were added in order to solve the above problems, and analyzed the mainstream smoke before and after passing through the filter. It was found that the filtration components of mainstream smoke were significantly different. As a result of reviewing the results, a filter added with a liquid fatty acid having a low viscosity, that is, a viscosity of 1 to 300 cP (lauric acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, etc.) is used for the overall filtration of tobacco mainstream smoke. A filter to which a liquid fatty acid ester (natural oil such as olive oil, castor oil, rapeseed oil, corn oil, safuku-to, grape seed oil, etc.) having a low viscosity, that is, having a viscosity of 1 to 300 cP is added is tobacco. It is easy to filter low-polar components in mainstream smoke, difficult to filter high-polar components, and low viscosity, that is, a filter added with glycol (polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, etc.) having a viscosity of 1 cP to 300 cP It was found that it was easy to filter the high-polarity components of and low-polarity components. Moreover, the vapor pressure of the component in the mainstream smoke of tobacco absorbed by these additives is 1 to 4000 Pa, whereas the vapor pressure of the component in the mainstream smoke of tobacco adsorbed by activated carbon is 100 to 100,000 Pa, Both were different.
Furthermore, even if the above fatty acid or fatty acid ester and glycol are added to the same filter, the filtration rate of tobacco mainstream smoke is not improved, and the filtration effect is also unstable. On the other hand, the above fatty acid, fatty acid ester, glycol, etc. It was also found that when an additive is mixed and added to the filter, the additive adheres to the activated carbon, and the filtration rate of the mainstream tobacco smoke decreases.
Therefore, in the present invention, the tobacco filter is divided into two or more sections, and another type of additive (mainstream smoke component removing agent) is added to each section. Thereby, the tobacco mainstream smoke is filtered for each component by each section, and high-efficiency mainstream smoke filtration can be achieved.
That is, according to the present invention, the following three filter sections (A) to (C):
(A) Filter section to which liquid fatty acid ester or liquid fatty acid having a viscosity of 1 to 300 cP is added (B) Filter section to which glycol having viscosity of 1 to 300 cP is added (C) Among the filter sections to which activated carbon is added, 2 A cigarette filter is provided that comprises more than one filter section.
When the cigarette filter of the present invention includes the filter section (A), it is preferable to use olive oil as an additive because the flavor of tobacco smoke becomes good. Moreover, when the filter for cigarettes of this invention is equipped with a filter section (B), when propylene glycol is used as glycol, the filtration rate of the high polar component in tobacco mainstream smoke will improve.
When the cigarette filter of the present invention includes the filter section (C), the filter section (C) is preferably disposed on the downstream side of the filter section (A) and / or the filter section (B).
The cigarette filter of the present invention can be provided with a plain filter at the most downstream position.
The present invention also provides a cigarette comprising the filter of the present invention at one end of a tobacco rod.
In the present invention, upstream and downstream are based on the flow direction of mainstream smoke during cigarette smoking. That is, the tobacco rod side is upstream, and the inlet side is downstream.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail.
The attached drawing is a partially developed perspective view showing a cigarette with a filter according to one embodiment of the present invention. This figure should be construed to also show a cigarette filter according to one embodiment of the present invention.
The
In the present invention, the filter has (A) a filter section to which a fatty acid ester or liquid fatty acid having a viscosity of 1 to 300 cP is added as a mainstream smoke component remover, and (B) a viscosity of 1 to 300 cP as a mainstream smoke component remover. Two or more filter sections are provided among the filter section to which glycol is added and the filter section to which (C) activated carbon is added as a mainstream smoke component removing agent.
Examples of the liquid fatty acid ester added to the filter section (A) include natural fats and oils such as olive oil, castor oil, rapeseed oil, corn oil, safflower and grape seed oil. Examples of the liquid fatty acid added to the filter section (A) include lauric acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and linolenic acid. The mainstream smoke component remover added to the filter section (A) is preferably olive oil. Olive oil matches well with tobacco flavor. The amount of liquid fatty acid ester or fatty acid added is preferably 5% to 30% of the weight of the filter fiber.
Examples of the glycol having a viscosity of 1 cP to 300 cP added to the filter section (B) include polyethylene glycol and propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is preferable. The amount of glycol added is preferably 5% to 30% of the weight of the filter fiber.
As the activated carbon added to the filter section (C), activated carbon used in a normal so-called charcoal filter, for example, coconut shell activated carbon can be used. The amount of the activated carbon added is preferably 10 to 80 mg per 10 mm filter length (filter circumference 16.8 mm to 25.8 mm).

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described by way of examples, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
Example 1
In order to confirm the influence of the polarity of the mainstream smoke component remover, olive oil, propylene glycol or linoleic acid (all manufactured by Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.) is added to the cigarette filter as the mainstream smoke component remover. The filtration rate of was evaluated.
An unplasticized cellulose acetate filter (3Y / 43000) was used as a cigarette filter. Each mainstream smoke component removing agent was sprayed into fine particles using an atomizer on a cigarette filter, and 35 mg of each was added. As a tobacco rod, a mild seven superlite tobacco rod sold by Japan Tobacco Inc. was used, and a filter with each mainstream smoke component remover added thereto was attached with cello tape to produce a cigarette as a prototype.
The prototype cigarette was naturally burned by 15 mm, then puffed under standard smoking conditions, and the mainstream smoke component flowing out from the filter was measured by gas chromatography / mass spectrum analysis. The filtration rate of each mainstream smoke component was calculated as a reduction rate of each mainstream smoke component based on the mainstream smoke component of a tobacco rod without a filter attached. The results are shown in Table 1 below. In addition, the result at the time of using the filter (control) which does not add a mainstream smoke component removal agent is also written together in Table 1.
As shown in Table 1, when olive oil is added, the filtration rates of hydrocarbons, pyridines, and phenols are remarkably increased as compared with the control filter. It can be seen that when propylene glycol is added, the filtration rate of pyridines, organic acids, and phenols is remarkably increased and exhibits removal characteristics different from olive oil. When linoleic acid was added, excellent filtration rates were obtained for all mainstream smoke components shown here. From these results, it can be seen that the mainstream smoke component remover preferentially removes mainstream smoke components having a polarity close to that polarity.
Example 2
In this example, the combined effect of a filter section to which activated carbon was added as a mainstream smoke component remover and a filter section to which another mainstream smoke component remover was added was evaluated.
(1) First, a filter section (charcoal filter) filled with 30 mg of activated carbon used in ordinary cigarettes in the form of a packed layer (thickness 2 mm) in order to evaluate the filtration rate of the filter section alone with activated carbon added. Prototyped. A 5 mm long plain cellulose acetate filter section (3Y / 43000) was placed downstream of the charcoal filter section to prevent the activated carbon from spilling. Such a filter was attached to one end of the same tobacco rod as in Example 1, and each mainstream smoke component was compared between when the activated carbon was filled and when not filled, and the filtration rate was evaluated by an indirect method. The analysis method is the same as in Example 1.
(2) Further, in order to evaluate the filtration rate of the filter section alone to which olive oil was added, 15 mg of olive oil was added to a cellulose acetate filter (3Y / 43000) having a length of 20 mm in the same manner as in Example 1 to obtain a filter section. The filtration rate of the mainstream smoke component was similarly evaluated.
(3) Next, on the downstream side of the olive oil added filter section, the filter prepared in (1) above is placed so that the charcoal filter section is in contact with the olive oil added filter section, and is attached to the tobacco rod. The filtration rate of was evaluated.
The obtained results are shown in Table 2 below.
In Table 2, the calculated value in the combination of the charcoal filter section and the olive oil added filter section is a simple calculated value based on the case where each filter section is used alone. As shown in Table 2, when the calculated value and the actually measured value are compared, the filtration rate shows no significant difference in the high boiling point component, but the measured value is significantly higher in the low boiling point component. From this result, when the filter section with activated carbon added as the mainstream smoke component remover is combined downstream of the filter section with other mainstream smoke component remover, it is more effective than the combined effect of each one (synergistic effect). (Effect) is obtained.
As described above, according to the present invention, a cigarette filter capable of efficiently filtering mainstream smoke of each component and a cigarette with a filter including such a filter are provided.
