Abstract

PURPOSE: To induce thermal shrinkage evenly on the front and rear of recording paper to prevent the paper from curling and to improve the fixability of a toner by transferring the toner to the recording paper by heating from the rear side of the recording paper in a secondary transfer section, then heating the front side of the recording paper by a heat roller contg. a heat source.
CONSTITUTION: This device has an endless intermediate transfer body 6 on which a toner image 13a formed on an image holding body 1 is transferred and the heat roller 10 which pinches the recording paper between the transfer body 6 and said roller and melts and fixes the toner image on the transfer body 6 onto the recording paper 12 by heating the recording paper 12. The device is further equipped with the heat roller 14 which heats the recording paper 12 past the spacing between the heat roller 10 and the transfer body 6 from the transfer body 6 side. The toner is, therefore, transferred to the recording paper 12 by heating the recording paper 12 from the rear side by means of the heat roller 10 and thereafter, the front side of the recording paper 12 is heated by the heat roller 14. The recording paper is thereby evenly heated from both the front and rear sides, by which the curling of the recording paper is prevented.
