Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the detection of the light emitting state and light unemitted state of each light emitting element corresponding to one dot of a light emitting group, by providing a light receiving means which receives lights from light emitting elements which have been changed in light path through a changing means for all the elements. CONSTITUTION:Light paths of all elements 1 from light emitting elements in an optical printer device are changed towards a light receiving means 3 by a light path changing means 2. This light receiving means 3 imparts information whether a specified light emitting element is emitting light according to a predetermined order and time interval or whether the replacement of the light emitting element is needed because of the presence of an abnormal light emitting state. As a result, the reliable monitoring of the light emitting elements can be conducted with a simple construction, and economical and efficient light emitting elements are made available.
