Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent oxidation due to corona and to enhance humidity resistance by forming an amorphous carbon film containing H and F in a specified F/C ratio on the uppermost surface of a photosensitive body and protecting the surface with the C, F, and C. CONSTITUTION:The film of the amorphous carbon containing H, F, and Si having a-C:F:H in an F/C atomic ratio of 0.4-2 is formed on the uppermost surface of the photosensitive body, thus permitting said film to be hardly oxidazable even during corona charging and maintained high in water repellency on the surface under high humidity, and accordingly, to form a sharp image, and greatly enhanced in humidity resistance and in corona resistance by regulating the F/C atomic ratio.
