Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the density of image plane and gradation in development by respective developers proper by setting the gap at the time of developing between the developing sleeve of a developing unit whose developer electrification quantity is large and an image carrier smaller than the gap between the developing sleeve of a developing unit whose developer electrification quantity is small and the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:The developing units 10A, 10B and 10C are arranged along the marginal part of a photosensitive drum 2 in parallel. When the motor of the developing unit which is selected in the selection of color specifying buttons is turned, a cam 13 fixed to a shaft 12 is turned with the turning of the motor. The cam 13 stops in a state where it presses the abutting part 14 of the developing unit 10.
