Abstract

PURPOSE:To diagnose the abnormality of a sliding motion apparatus accurately without decomposition, by comparing a signal, which is proportional to the wave height value of a suddenly generated wave, with a signal, which is proportional to the wave height value of the continuous wave in a signal from an acoustic emission AE sensor, with respect to the magnitudes. CONSTITUTION:An AE sensor 2 is provided at a rotary compressor 1. The output of the sensor is amplified in an amplifier 3. Envelop detection is performed in an envelop detector 4. The result is sent to a waveform-parameter analyzing part 5. The output of the analyzing part 5 under-goes abnormality judgement in an abnormality judging part 7. The result is displayed on a display part 8. Then, the detected AE signal undergoes parameter analysis in a constant period Ts by using a rotating signal. As parameters, an average wave height value Vp of a suddenly generated waves and an effective signal strength Vm including continuous waves are used. A threshold value Vth is obtained from Vm. The even exceeding the Vth is made to be the AE event. The Vp is obtained from the expression, where Vi is the value of component amplitude, and N is the number of the AE events. Then ratio between the signal strength Vm and the average wave height value Vp is obtained. When the value is a specified value or more, the normal state is identified. When the value is less than the specified value, abnormality is identified.
